Aw, thanks all.  Looking at GBH again I'm really happy I decided to up the scale a bit - that crew wouldn't look right incomplete and there wasn't any other way I could see to do them justice.  Of course, now I've opened the door to larger sized figures it does allow for some other possibilities that I'd previously written off...  I'll see what I can come up with next year.

GBH's hair is just astounding.

Superb work and I'd be buying these in a heartbeat if they were commercially available...

Thanks, Bolt - GBH's hair was a bit of a nightmare to design but far, far worse to actually construct.  The thought of dropping this one and having to rebuild it gives me nightmares.  Feek and Ace (and D.R. and Quinch) are a lot more straightforward, thankfully.

I can provide the digital (Stud.io) files for anything I designed with that and the possibility to create step-by-step instructions (as a .pdf file) makes these a lot more doable than they were for people slightly less loony than me.  There are a few glitches to iron out with the steps that are automatically generated but the instructions are generally pretty decent (if you can handle IKEA flat-pack assembly, you can handle these).

With a son who's mad keen on lego and a Lego store local to me I love these...

If theres any way I can facilitate offering these out #legit# in some way-  Id be very interested to help out.
;)

Dan, PR

I guess Keith is the person to talk to but I'm sure attempts to get Lego behind some 2000AD releases haven't come up trumps before now, unfortunately.  I'd love to see something (anything) official on shelves but in the meantime I'll just keep chipping away at stuff like this and making designs and instructions available to anyone who wants them, as far as I'm able.

I love these so hard.

Thanks, Jimbo!  I was amazed to see Feek standing up, perfectly balanced, on those teeny feet.  Just dumb luck there, really.  Hee hee!

Still missing one or two pieces (one shipment of bricks seems to have gone AWOL) but these are pretty much done.  Probably my last for the year although I might chip away at a couple of things...

The Stud.io instructions aren't perfect but not too bad really; I can probably tweak the final output to iron out some of the slightly weird steps.  You can change the page set-up and move everything around so builds don't run to a million pages, which is handy.  On the whole, the Instructions thing is a very handy feature.

Oh, and I can now add the proper Brickheadz-style eyes in Stud.io (see above render of Ace).  I had to change one end of his scarf though; annoyingly not available in white.

I've just discovered the 'Instructions' feature in the Stud.io Beta v2.0; I'll try and put this to good use and sort out instructions for the various character designs I've done digitally.  I still need to work back and do Dredd, Slaine et al. in Stud.io as well.  I need to find time to fiddle around with the instructions feature but it looks promising; I've had a quick go and now have a shiny .pdf instruction book for Garp the Barp.  I'll try and figure out a way to make these available to anyone who wants them, along with the Stud.io files...

We're doing the physical builds as soon as the rest of the bits arrive - yay!

The Serengeti Rules.  Fantastic, not totally doom and gloom (but mostly*) film based on Sean Carroll's book, about the game-changing keystone species concept.  If you're at all interested in life on Earth, seeing yet another example of how humans are screwing things up but have at least some limited hope of turning things around in some cases, I'd highly recommend seeing this.

* To be honest, this was far more soul destroying than even the 'family picnic' scene in The House that Jack Built, which I saw the day before.

No good pic of Cam's contribution yet but this one recently came in from the lovely Dom Reardon:

I had a few pieces from Brendan McCarthy arrive recently; nothing 2000AD-related among them* but Brendan did throw in this recent Mickey Swift drawing, which was nice.

* I'll dump those here: https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=37797.0

A few (more) gems from Brendan McCarthy...  Follow the Leader is one I first saw in a mid-80s Fantasy Advertiser interview; Horrorville (a pitch featuring a wheeled City of Nightmares, etc.) and all the rest are featured in Swimini Purpose.

23000.

Ming: clearly, you need to make them out of Lego.

Hah!  Even I'm not that loony...  (I've now ordered all the bits for D.R. & Quinch and Ace & Co. - probably my last builds for this year although unsurprisingly I've got a couple of other characters in mind now).

Anyway, physical 2000AD Top Trumps would be wonderful so please make it happen, Tharg.

Hah, it's ages since I played that!  Great fun but I feel sorry for Tharg as he performed woefully just now (captured just 3 of my cards, leaving me with a final score of 24,500).  I could do with a real set of these for the boys...  Hmm.

That's lovely!

I don't remember that vicious looking bladed weapon, left Johnny is holding. Not to say it's not used, my memory isn't great in some ways. Like a cross between his Electrolux and an extra-large ninja throwing-star!

It's a nod to the crystal weapon thing (some kind of precursor to Electronux) that Carlos featured on a Star Lord pin-up back in the day...  Always loved that, one of my favourite ever Strontium Dog images!

Beta version of the Stud.io software does some lovely rendering - threw a bunch of the builds together just for fun...  Honestly, I'd buy these!

Thirded. Works well with the Feek and Ace schemes too. Looking forward to your Ughbugs!

Don't get me started; the boys will be wanting a Titan of Peem next...  GBH has come on nicely today with help from the younglings (in return for starting on Mad-Eye Moody and Grindelwald figures for them).
