Games / Re: URBAN DEAD - The Killing Game....

Great idea, DXB.  I'm in.  As a further suggestion, how about we have the chance to take two markers (i.e. kills) before a third makes death permanent, and the player must retire from the game?  Rather than a one-off quick death...  maybe this would make it a bit long-running, but if you get killed by another player you have the opportunity to get revived and hunt in down in a cat-and-mouse game worthy of Button Man...

Screenshots of warnings and kills would be a good idea, and players should keep a record of remaining markers in their profile.

Thoughts?

Hey Ed - nice write up, but there seems to be no mention of Back To Mine 3?  Shurely shome mishtake?  ;-)

Nice to see you back, anyhow!

Lucky you, Stockholm's lovely - almost as nice as Bergen ;-)

Eurovision is an obsession here as well, though the main topic of conversation is that the bloody Swedes never give any points to Norway.  And when they do, they must be up to something!

I saw Psalmer frÃ¥n köket on TV in the UK last year - a really nice film set in the 50s, about Swedish researchers coming to Norway to study the kitchen habits of their backward Norwegian cousins.  Heh.

As for how long I've been a Squaxx - regularly since about Prog 190-something.  I've seen Danish reprints here, I think, but that's about it.

Greetings, hocothedev - we have a bit of a Scandinavian presence here already, with me (in Norway) and UK Dane (in Denmark, naturally).  Whereabouts are you?  How's that new government working out for you?

I learnt all I needed to know about Sweden-Norway relations by watching the Eurovision Song Contest (Grand Prix) and that Kitchen Stories film (Salmer fra kjøkkenet - Psalmer från köket, to you).

Anyway, welcome!

I missed this thread until now - it's great!  Oh - and can we enter Mike Collins' demolarizing as a new verb?

demolarize
verb
To ruin utterly in character or quality to the extent that having your teeth pulled is distinctly preferable.

Millar - the Demolarizer!  :-)

Panic over, then?  The prospect of a few more days cold turkey was horrifying - well done all to get this place back on it's feet!

Well, no - I had a look and ran away.  Reading the guy's notes concerning how counter-intuitive, confusing and generally unsolveable this new one is put me off a bit.  Let us know how you get (or got) on with it, though.

Heh. This is the best welcome thread in a very, very long time - a good introduction to 'what lies beneath'* for the recent arrivals.  Welcome synabetic, JeffTiley, Concrete Block, M.I.K. - may your lawgivers always fire spooge!
