Not sure I'm doing this right, but here goes...

I always thought the scout-plane in The Masks of Arazzor (Prog #241, late 1982) looked similar(ish) to a 1970s Battlestar Galactica Viper...

Something about the placement of the three engines around the cockpit and the snub-nose. Most likely a complete coincidence though, I mean, how many variations of basic jet plane designs are there, right?

Good call!  :)

I like how the eye-witness in this report dressed for the occasion - it really reflects the seriousness of the situation!

What the...?

The phrase 'normal, for Norfolk' springs to mind...

(I lived there for a few years.  I was told by an ex-nurse that in the past, when babies with extra digits or other peculiarities appeared in maternity wards they were given tags labelled 'NFN'.  A visitor asked what the letters stood for and that, apparently, was the reply.  Very probably untrue but always made me laugh like a drain.)

Seriously, I think that episode should stay together.  It's pretty rare to see the original art for complete episodes in one place and for such an iconic sequence to get split up would be a shame (completely understandable, but a shame).  There's one page (one panel!) that alone should go sky-high, price-wise, but the other pages, if split from that, might not get the attention they deserve.

I've chatted with you about this episode before I think, David - and remember that I have a suitably nice SD title page if you want to explore trade (or partial trade) options...  ;)

Anyway, fantastic art from one of *those* moments in the Prog.

News / Re: Cam Kennedy: Some Good News For A Change

Heh, great to see Cam moving into the interwebs...  He got in touch with me a couple of days back concerning some related issues so as and when there's some info I can share here, I'll do just that.  Not sure how much new material we'll see but in general there's definitely good news ahead for fans of Cam's work.

Easy!  Strange Days.  All of it or just the first issue; don't care.  Milligan, McCarthy & Ewins at their very best.

Awesome.  Nailed both of those perfectly; another labour of love, showing how it's done...

Three episodes in and Better Call Saul just keeps getting better.

Right there with you on that one.  Just watched the third episode last night and it's excellent; familiar but distinct enough to stand firmly on its own two feet.

Pass the cucumber water, will you?

:)

Also currently enjoying: Uncle.  Second season is a couple of episodes in and continues to tickle my funny bone.

Heh, that's the head and bowler hat I had on a generic suited body for a while in an attempt to make the Pinstripe Freak - but Max Normal looked a bit too normal so his head migrated...  I did consider trying to make a Shuggy Hall scene for him though; could populate it with some random cits, simps and perps, maybe.

And those fatties are f'ing hilarious.  Some people might question what you're doing with your time... or suggest that you might be too old for this sort of thing.

I wouldn't be one of them...

Geoff, if you look back over the thread, you'll see that our two boys provided the excuse for this venture.  We started off with a decidedly modest amount of bricks but over the past couple of years things have escalated slightly (as is the way when you combine Lego with growing kids).  They've yet to delve into the Prog (they're four and six-ish) but this has been a great way to familiarise them with various characters and stories.  I'm incredibly proud of the fact they have little interest in TV and would rather sit down with a book or draw or play with Lego... Their attention spans are greater than mine, for sure.  The fact that I sit down with them and make this stuff for an hour or two now and then works for all of us.

What these fools said.  Get well soon, Buttonman!  Maybe some time spent with Paint might aid the recovery...

Vaccination is a no-brainer and I'm continually astonished that it seems to be the 'educated' people who have issues with this.  As a parent, it's just insane to not take the precaution.  And anyone reading Roald Dahl's letter and remaining unswayed... well.

Announcements / Re: Brett Ewins 1955-2015

Really sad to learn of Brett's death; an iconic 2000AD artist with a string of other fantastic creations to his name and a legacy to be very proud of.  I only met him once, many years ago, when he signed my copy of Strange Days #2, but (with the assistance of Wake) I managed to rope him into contributing to Project Sketchbook last year.  After having come through a very difficult period, and knowing this wasn't an easy thing for him to take on, seeing the sketch signed 'Brett Ewins 2014' was incredibly heartening...

Cheers for all the Thrills, Brett!

"The Last Trundle of the Fatinum Horde", Prog 217.

Alan More-Pie's classic Future Shock told the tale of the Fatinum Horde, setting out from their home world and rampaging their way across the universe, eventually returning to their by-now-unrecognisable starting point and subsequently eating it.  *burp*  S'cuse me.

Let's face it, if you saw one of these guys trundling towards you, brandishing a sausage, you'd run for the hills - and rightly so.

It's not a competition!  ::)

Whoever dies with the most art wins! ;)

No, whoever dies with the best art wins  ;)

I'm considering pruning some more here and there - get things down to a nice core collection I can enjoy and pass on to the (suitably appreciative) kids without worrying about it all ending up in a landfill somewhere once I pop me clogs.

What a cheery thought!
