Off Topic / Re: Good Drinkin'

I am not a big drinker.

I may have a stab at a cocktail if I know I like the majority of the ingredience...

I do like an occasional STRONG brandy and lemonade....

Sheridens, a coffee liqueur is very nice.

There was a fortified red wine with dark chocolate called Rubis... which I enjoyed but seems sadly to have become defunct,

I like Taboo and Lemonade...

and strawberry liqueur....

Help! / Recomendation for auction sites....
10 October, 2013, 05:10:31 PM

Can somebody recommend me an auction site that isn't E bay or Amazon.

I am trying to find a quote to replace Adrian's genuine Victorian sword stick that was stolen by the landlord and they don't sell weapons.

He also took 2 medieval (working) crossbow replicas and a compound bow...

Any ideas folks?

Adrian has reported the thefts to the police as soon as he discovered them. But we know that it is the landlord who has taken these items.

Two council workers came to assess what needs to be done and subject to confirmation that they are right by using an endoscopic camera to see the state of the drains they will have to dig up the hallway (& the only entrance to the flat) to rectify the sewage problem.

The landlord will have to foot the bill for this work.

These gus also confirmed Adrian's suspicions that had the idiotic landlord had just spent the £300 replacing the faulty saniflow pump... All the subsequent problems would not have happened.

If these repairs are not carried out soon... The residents in the flat up stairs will be next to suffer.

The musty smell of mold is now so strong you can only stay inside the flat for a few minutes before you have to leave and clear your lungs out....

Of course I support my local library service... I need it!

What I am complaining about it them wasting their resources by failing to n the basis of PC maintenance... It isn't hard. But it is essential. why spend thousands of pounds on new PC's when lack of maintenance means the damn things will be wrecked within months?

It is simple common sense isn't it?

"In a survey earlier this year, one-in-11 people - some 9% - told a YouGov poll for the Huffington Post in the US that they would be prepared to have sex with a robot. That works out at over 25 million Americans - which could translate into a lot of robot sales (at $9,000 per fembot) ... The main drawback of this type of robot is that they have a very short battery life - they only last for about 20 minutes.."

Could one not plug them into the mains?

(Would add a new angle to "Russian Roulette ")

You folks may recall how on the odd occasion I have moaned about the general crappy-ness of the PCs offered for use to the general public in Croydon Libraries.

Well at the start of this month these old machines were replaced.

You might think that this would solve the problem...
but no... already they have stared to deteriorate.... Pages are now taking minutes to load... or just not loading at all.

Didn't take them long to wreck them.. did it?

And who the hell buys computers from DELL with there record?
