Could it be they are putting in new systems to work with the iPad?

This has now been rectified, so see if this helps:

It makes much more sense, thanks very much.

No worries - thanks for flagging up your concerns.

It appears Excelsior Comics in Bristol will take small press comics on sale or return (might be worth looking into if you are passing that way for the Comic Con):

It also contains other interesting ideas and opportunities that also hep spread the love of comics.

If this is the first dead body someone has to smuggle through John Lennon airport I'd be surprised.

Smuggling a stiff - should probably go off to the Profanisaurus with the definition "how gentlemen leave the Jack the Rippers".

Smuggling a stiff through John Lennon - probably doesn't bear thinking about too much.

I genuinely tried, with Herculean might to read that entire article with a serious and sombre mind. Then this (from the BBC article):

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8604663.stm

Quote
"I [did not] kill my Willi. My Willi is my god. I [have loved] my Willi for 22 years."

I mean, I ask you - it's like a two Ronnie's sketch...

Or a quote from Ethel on Eastenders.

Insane as ever and I'm not really sure what's going on but I'm loving every page of it.

If you have any questions then feel free to ask away.

Orrrrrrrrr perhaps someone who shall remain nameless (but isn't the letterer or any of the artists #cough#  :-[) forgot to get some rather important text added to the page. This has now been rectified, so see if this helps:

I've just seen the pencils for this page and we are on track for the last page in this arc, so those waiting for those waiting to read the complete arc don't have long to wait. Given the fact the next arc is going to be a longer one you might want to reconsider this strategy ;)

Just to say, it appears the press release has now been circulated and nominations are officially open. If anyone in the testing phase add sample votes and wants them removed they can be:

Jim Lee drawing on the iPad using his finger and it is still embarrassingly good:

Although to be fair he could probably draw better than me with a pencil wedged up his ass.

And if there are problems then throw them in here on and if they need attention someone can pass them on.

Has the press release gone out? If not this might still count as the testing period (although it seems if it is you'll get the chance to keep your nominations).

Equally I can't suggest people vote for Fractal Friction in the webcomics ;)

It would be nice if we could John Hicklenton for Roll of Honour, not that I'm trying to lead your vote, or anything.

Yes I added him in there (as part of the Beta testing) - the Tom Frame nomination got steamrollered by Warren Ellis' sweep of the categories and last year's was cancelled but this seems a good opportunity to make this count. It also occurs to me (too late) that "Here's Johnny" could go in Favourite Comics-Related Movie or TV Show if anyone wants to add that and we can see about getting double nominations.

I made some notes on my choices as I was unsure if the beta testing was going to get scrubbed or not so here they are with my thinking behind them, some of which is based on my plans last year:

I'm largely sticking with my plan for last year which was to reward Captain Britain and MI13 in the hope they bring it back sooner, although the votes don't necessarily reflect those I'll go for in the final run down, as some (Matt Smith and FutureQuake are going to make it through so I'm looking at who else could get a nomination). Also sorry to Kev Lev and Rich who is in there already but it is for 2009 work - you'll get my noms for this years work (unless someone else breaks out) when we can add Corvus to the graphic novels and try for a sweep across the categories:

Favourite Newcomer writer: Al Ewing
Favourite Newcomer Artist: Matt Timson
Favourite Writer: Paul Cornell
Favourite Writer/Artist: Alan Davis
Favourite Artist: Pencils: Leonard Kirk
Favourite Artist: Inks: Paul Neary
Favourite Artist: Fully-Painted Artwork:  Simon Davis
Favourite Colourist: Chris Blythe
Favourite Letterer:  Jim Campbell
Favourite Editor: Nick Lowe - Matt Smith should make it through to the next round
Favourite Publisher: 2000ad - should really be Rebellion but it'll do
Favourite American Colour Comicbook: Captain Britain and MI13
Favourite British Colour Comicbook: 2000AD
Favourite American Black and White Comicbook: Walking Dead
Favourite British Black and White Comicbook: Paragon - as FQ will make it through to the final list
Favourite New Comicbook: Batman and Robin
Favourite Manga: - I wimped out on this as I don't think I read any manga released last year
Favourite European Comicbook: Requiem Chevalier Vampire
Favourite Single Story Published During 2009: Cradlegrave - Kingdom: Call of the Wild (2000 AD) but I'm not sure this is in the right category as it isn't a single story it is part of a larger ongoing one, I think this category might be a tricky one, looking at my votes last year I went for a story that had been a one-issue affair so neither might make the cut
Favourite Continued Story Published During 2009: Judge Dredd: Tour of Duty (2000 AD)
Favourite Cover Published During 2009: prog 1631 - the one I voted for and the winner in best cover of 2009: http://www.2000adonline.com/forum/index.php/topic,27223.0.html
Favourite Original Graphic Novel Published During 2009: Grandeville - some of those listed are trade paperbacks so could get kicked to the curb
Favourite Reprint Compilation: Captain Britain by Alan Moore & Alan Davis Omnibus
Favourite Magazine about Comics: Crikey
Favourite Comics-Related Book: Kirby: King of Comics - not 2008 but as they skipped last years and I can't think of anything else (although I hear good things about Mike Conroy's War Comics too)
Favourite Comics-Related Movie or TV Show: Watchmen - bit stumped on this one
Favourite Comics Related Website: 2000adonline
Favourite Web-Based Comic: Fractal Friction - I couldn't do anything else
Roll of Honour: John Hicklenton - Tom Frame got swept aside in the 2008 Ellisathon but this should do well

Soooooooo that's my plan - I didn't put as much thought in this year as I'm sticking largely to my plan for last year. We'll see how things work out.

Vampires are bound to appeal to youth. They stay up all night, get wasted on illegal beverages, are strong, fearless(when your dead what's there left to be scared of) and have lots of non commital sex before returning home to sleep all day.

What could be better than that? ;)

Angels apparently:

www.guardian.co.uk/books/2009/oct/26/angels-vampires-anne-rice
www.guardian.co.uk/books/2010/apr/04/teenage-fiction-cult-angels

So if you were looking to hook your bandwagon to a trend then ignore those mopey vampires and go straight for some complex kinda fallen angel type. Looking at it though I think my teen deities is stealing a march on these characters because... where do you go once the angle craze is played out? Young gods that's where. Bang out a trilogy and have them sitting their waiting to scoop up the audience as they move on. Ka ching!!

And why would I photograph other peoples bra's eh?

I'd bet good money there are at least 2 people in this very forum who photograph other people's bras. You can ask them why if you dare.
