Games / Re: I HATE GAME
15 January, 2011, 10:14:04 AM
If this is a general GAME hate thread then:
because I took in a game which was limited edition, and it was relatively new, they were selling the standard edition preowned for some thing like £12, and the limited edition (the one I took in) for about £25 preowned. They offered me £6. So I just laughed and walked out. I mean, I know they've always been a bit stingy and I get it, they have to make profit out of the trade in thing, but they've never been that bad,end of 2009/beginning of 2010, I took in a game that was quite recent, they gave me a tenner and sold it on for £20. That is reasonable. This time it was not, so I went in to HMV, everyone always tells me they rip you off worse than game and they are very stingy, so I was surprised when  they offered me £14. That was reasonable.

That's weird, I check websites reqularly to see what books are selling out quickly, say if I was on agancy files two, but I saw that four was selling out, I'd buy four before three, anyway, like I said I check reqularly and the last time I did so (about a month back) they had them. Like you guys said, christmas.

Help! / Class of '79?
14 January, 2011, 04:18:03 PM
I got to the board a little after this whole 'class of '79' thing. It was mentioned a bit but I didn't really know what it was. I've gathered it is/was* a fanzine and it had something to do with Logan. I know there was a yahoo group, and I looked at the page, it said there has been one message sent in January 2011 so far, so is this thing, whatever it is, still going?
Many thanks, Will.

*I say was as there hasn't been much mention of it, and I know W.R Logan was a part of it, and he announced he was leaving the board.

Is 100 the smallest amount you'd be willing to split the progs to?
sorry to be awkward, if so, don't worry, I'll see if I can get 100.

Film & TV / Re: Spider-Man (2012) Reboot
14 January, 2011, 12:10:02 PM
Okay, I haven't read many spiderman comics. Well that's a lie, I went through a phase a few years back where I read them, and I will probably start again. Why did he have the non-organic shooters again in ultimate spiderman, was it because he had all the other powers but not the webs?
I don't know much when it comes to spiderman.

Good point about the reaction and passion thing peter, anywho,  I bought the issue of Total Film that claims to have first info about Dredd and the first pic of Karl Urban. Just what has been covered here, still, it's nice to know that it is already getting coverage by a big magazine. Let's just hope in a year or so when I buy and issue and turn the pages the review reads 4 or 5 stars.

Games / Tron Evolution
13 January, 2011, 05:13:47 PM
It's... good. It's not brilliant. I'm enjoying it.
Graphics: Pretty good
Gameplay: Pretty good, plays a bit like a neon Prince of Persia, but repetetive. Oh and they have lightcycles and light tanks Which are very fun.
Story: Pretty good, it's a prequel to Legacy, which bridges the gap, and shows what happens to Tron, Clu, and the ISO's. You play as a pretty nifty security program, a lot better than Norton.
Voice acting: Good.
Multiplayer: Pretty good and very fun. Haven't played it enough yet to know if I'll get board quickly, there are some DLC's out, some of which come with the game, so hopefully I won't get board. I like it because it feels like you're part of the tron games, there are some maps where you can only have I.D disc battles, which can contain up to 10 people I think, which are very fun, and then maps where you can go both on foot and in tanks and... on light cycles! It's very satisfying when you're driving along, leaving a light ribbon, then the screen tells you 'you've derezzed so and so...'.
All in all, it's not particularly epic gaming, but it is fun.
