Dredd: Have Judges ever referred to each other as "helmets" before? I would have thought I'd remember.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=

Yep, there's several times in the last few years that Judges have refered to each other as helmets. Usually, it something like "We need more helmets here" or "better get more helmets". I don't recall which progs it was in though.

Well, not that I condone that sort of thing, but bootleg copies of both the PC and PS2 versions of Dredd vs Death are available here in Hong Kong. Haven't seen any originals for sale anywhere yet though.

I resorted to getting my family in UK to buy me the PS2 version and post it out here to me. And cracking game it is too. Highly recommended.

Just up to level 9. Not really being a gamer I'm finding it pretty hard even on easy setting. Great fun though.

That game looks funny. Like really split your sides lauging funny. What were they thinking?

That's a very tubby looking Dredd. That's not just a normal spare tire he's packing, it's a bloddy Lawmaster spare tire of a gut :-)

My icon is a VF-17D 'Nightmare' Stealth Valkyrie, a mecha from one of my favourite anime TV series 'Macross 7'.

Dredd = Actually as much as I normally dislike Siku's attempts at Dredd, I think he's doing much better than usual with this story. Nice blasts from the past in this weeks ep as well. Interesting to see where this story is going to lead.

DMW = I love Boo Cook's art and think it's perfectly suited tothis story. Actually, I'd like to see him do some more Dredd. I'm quite enjoying DMW and it doesn't bother me at all that it has been running simultaneously with Harry 20 in the Meg.

Durham Red = Enjoyed this episode (and the previous one as well) although the first few eps of this series were a bit confusing. Nice to see Red in action. And what's with all the complaints about the revealing costumes? Don't you people like looking at scantily clad, sexy, mutant vampire chicks?

CabCo = The plot thickens.

Synamon = A big improvement on Bison and while the art is okay, it's sometimes a bit dificult to tell exactly what's going on.

Overall a fair prog, with the highlight for once probably being Durham red.

Dredd = I loved the Dredd Sex Olympics Story. Made me laugh out loud several times when reading it. Best one-off Dredd story of the year IMO. Fantastic bit of writing by Wagner and great art (as always) by Cliff Robinson. Definitely the highlight of Meg 213.

Harry 20 = Sorry to see the end of Harry 20. Loved it the first time round and enjoyed it this time as well. Alan Davis's art is always a real treat.

Armitage = Utter shite. Worst thing in the Meg. Dave Stone ought to be shot for coming up with an ending like that.

Devlin Waugh = I love Colin McNeil's art, but it wasn't enough to save this story, which just seemed to drag on and on. Most of the episodes seemed completely interchangeable with each other. As others have said, this series probably would have been better at half the length.

Judge Death = Seems to have lost the original intent of making Death scary again and turned this back into a comedy (and a silly one at that). Boo Hiss!

XTNCT = Interesting idea, but can't really get into it that much.

Charley's War = Not really interested in war stories with a historical basis. I hated Darkies Mob. However, I'm actually quite enjoying Charley's war, as long as they don't reprint the whole bloddy series (that would drag on).

I don't think the war was wrong. Perhaps the reasons given for the war were a bit spurious, but even if only 10% of what we hear in the Western press about Saddam is true, then by all accounts he was not a very nice guy and deserved to by removed from power. I certainly would not have liked him running my country, would you?

The Iraqi people now have the chance to improve their situation and set up a better form of Government, improve their standard of living etc, etc as long as they can get their act together and stop dicking around. The ball is basically in their court now.

I agree with Floyd, it does seem a bit late to protest the war after the fact.

Saddam gassed Kurds, Hitler gassed Jews. I wonder in 'protest fashionable UK' are we going to start seeing protests retroactively protesting about the war in Europe against Hitler?

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Edmund Burke (1729–1797), Irish philosopher, statesman.

Never understood why you people in UK love to protest so much? Personally, I think getting rid of Saddam's regime was the right thing to do and the Coalition forces should have done it during the first Gulf War rather than wait 10 years.

Are you Brits protesting against the war? Why? It's over! The only thing going on now is guerilla actions by Iraq insurgents against US troops.

Are you protesting against US troops remaining in Iraq? Well, what's the alternative? If the US pulls out completely, then the country would probably revert to anrachy extremely quickly followed shortly no doubt by another tinpot dictator taking and the cycle of repression and murder starting all over again.

While the ideal situation maybe for a mixed group of intertational UN peacekeepers to take over from the US troops until stability is restored and a functional Iraqi Government and constitution is in place, who is going to fund the peacekeeping force?

Personally, I think there's just too many people protesting in UK just for the sake of protesting without having a firm belief in the reason they are protesting.

Excited about Necronauts as I everyone keeps saying how good this is and I missed it the first time round.

Little bit disappointed that Sin City is not coming out as a graphic novel :-(

Personally, I'm very disappointed with the 21st century so far. I want to know where's all the cool sci-fi gadgets we read about or saw on the TV/Cinema as kids?

When I was a kid, I was sure by the time I was 30, we'd all be going to work in our personal flying cars and taking holidays to Mars.

What's happened to progress? Where's the teleporters, jetpacks and robo-servants? I mean honestly, it's just like living in the 20th century!
