Yeah, it's a bit of a shame there's no 2000AD-universe with certain characters meeting each other (obviuosly a bit more difficult than Marvel/DC but...).  In fact, how great would a Fleetway (or whatever) universe be with Adam Eterno dropping in on Slaine or Dredd?

Has anyone complied what will/should have happened according to 2000AD?  e.g. 1999 - UK invaded by Volgans etc

I'm doing it all through Diamond, so it's all firm sales.  Obviously I'll have copies for myself for the website, fairs etc that I'll stick on eBay/Marketplace.  So once you're on (you may even get on just by ISBN but I'm not sure), you can do that but you'll come up with the less appealling 'may be available new or used' spiel.

Amazon Advantage
4.2 As an Advantage member we will pay you only once we have made a customer sale. The amount we will pay you for each title sold will depend on which programme you are on. The price at which we purchase each title from you is calculated by applying the appropriate programme discount to the Specified Price of each title. For Advantage programme members, the applicable discounts will be: 60% off the Specified Price of each book

You might be thinking of Marketplace, which is more reasonable but it isn't really made for publishers as you can't put books that aren't already in the system on it.

As it is, I sell on Amazon, WH Smith etc through Diamond (50% to UK orders and 62% for overseas).  Without Diamond, you're really struggling to sell outside a small dedicated community (imagine 2000AD not being sold in comic shops or newsagents and then you can imagine how much it's being cut down).

The whole thing with Fleetway/Egmont is a bit more complex than that, so a distribution deal needs to be done.

I know someone else on this board is working on another Fleetway project if he'd like to say.  I hope to get another out at Xmas 2007, with new and archive stories.  Won't say what yet.  And I won't take advance payments next time as people have been waiting as long as Titan took for the Spider (mind you, I sent everyone a comic pack at Xmas to try to compensate - still, sorry about the wait).

I've got a sampler up at starscape.  I've reduced the quality a lot to get it under 5mb for the whole story (each original page is well over 10mb) but it still shows clean artwork.

Whoops.  I'd hoped to get it out before then but Diamond (the distributors) won't be able to make that date.  April is the projected month but I'll be getting it printed as soon as Diamond has collated their numbers then sending it to website purchasers (they've waited way too long!).

Sorry about the expensive price but Amazon take 62%, Fleetway another 10%, then the printing costs. It's not a big enough company to shoulder these costs unfortunately or to reach new agreements.

Yeah but they are using it to promote comics, including 2000AD.  Perhaps both can send each other a nice card and start again?

italics off?

Time Out of Joint by Philip K Dick. Whenever I try to describe this, people think it's the Truman Show.  Lot weirder than that.

Flowers for Algernon was adapted into a comic too, but with the Rhino (a la Spidey/Hulks enemy) taking the lead role!

Erekose and Corum by Michael Moorcock too.  Lot better than Elric IMHO as they are aware of their doom.

Time Machine by HG Wells.  Incredibly good and nothing like the equally wonderful film.

Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter.  When men were men and women were red...

There's a wealth of comics this month! Guard Dogs v Twig Boy reaches an epic conclusion. Young Marvelman visits Brighton. There's a taster of Hook Jaw. We promote British comics with suck and see, starring Doomlord (please buy it) and for posterity, Angry Planet. Omac contiunues as does Vanquishers v Overmen in Nimrod. The first part of Grant Springford's Clock Works makes an appearance and even the Leopard from Lime Street has a Christmas message.

And hey, what about new text stories from Link Yaco (author of Science of the X-Men), a Watchmen FanFilm, the fantastic Carnival of Souls horror movie and comic reviews in Suspended Animation. And check out the cartoons, serials and Starweb for more!

All FREE!!! Donations welcome.

Writers and artists always wanted

Keep looking to the Stars,

Wow, that was a pretty good synopsis.  But how are they going to make Iron Man a hero again when he's been jailing all the other heroes and how can Captain America come back from the dead?

SPOILERS
Completely unrelated of course but did you hear the Skrulls have infiltrated the Marvel Universe.  Now who could those shape-shifters have been impersonating?

Because Spider-Man is an everyman, whereas with the Iron Man style costume, he's immensely powerful.  Loses the common touch.

SPOILERS

He's not in it any more after switching sides and battling Tony Stark.  He's back in his threaded costume, on the run from the government and hunted by the superheroes/SHIELD.  Back to classic troubled Spidey.

You're a little behind the times there with the robot Spidey.  I think half the point was for you not to like the new costume. That way, ah, I'd only spoil it for you...
