Yup, it was Captain Hollister (?) from red dwarf. It was good that they used the autoguns in the special edition since in the origional Hick does say that theyve salvaged them from the wrecked APC only for them not to be used. And 'cos they ROCK.

You have to make up a table of differences between successive values, and the differences between the differences and so on until the difference is constant. That tells you the order of polynomial best suits the points. After that I canna quite remember...

Interpolating a curve is where you hava a collection of points and you fit the best curve possible in order to know the function on the given range. See the "Newton-Gregory forward difference interpolation formula". Its a piece of piss.
