Anyone else think the pacing this series is atrocious?

It's like:

Setting 1
Set up > event
Setting 2
Set up > event
Setting 3
Set up > event
Setting 1
CLIFFHANGER

I honestly think they're floundering like mad without the books to guide them - it feels like it's all just wish-fulfillment and immediate action rather than long build-ups. Also - their desire to kill arbitrary characters just to keep up with their reputation has lead to some really bizarre moments because there's no one left to do things.
Davos trying to bolster the Mellisandre's confidence so she can "save the day" after last series she caused the death of adorable Shireen and Stannis .... LIKE, WHAT?!?
In 2014 we did The Day the Law Died

In 2015 we did Block Mania

and courtesy of April winner Simon Prime this month we will be delving into the first big epic in Dredd's history...

QuoteTHE APOCALYPSE WAR

Running between Progs 245 - 270 and drawn by the legendary Carlos Ezquerra over a stunning 25 episodes the Apocalypse War saw the large-scale invasion of Mega-City One by the Sov-Blok and the subsequent destruction of East-Meg One. It contains a ton of iconic visual moments to pick from - but if somehow there are squaxx without a copy of this classic conflict to hand the Future Shop has your back and the entire saga from Block Mania to the bitter end in prog 270 is featured in the fifth volume of The Complete Dredd Case Files.

There will be a GN straight from the nerve centre for the winner, and one for Tharg's Choice - and there will also be a bonafide 2000 AD droid choosing their favourite entries! All entries will be viewable here, on our dedicated FB page and as of this month on the OFFICIAL 2000 AD TUMBLR.

Rules for the art comp are these:

- You can enter as many times as you like but bear in mind it will split your vote so it may not be worth it.

- All entries have to be constructed specifically for this competition - so nothing you've done for anything else.

- You can enter either here or by directly putting it on our FB wall!

YOU HAVE UNTIL THE 29th OF MAY WHEN WE SHALL ACCIDENTALLY OBLITERATE THE PEACEFUL VOTING PLANET

Michael Dorn has been pushing a Captain Worf show for years, in the same way George Takai pushed for years for a Captain Sulu show.

I imagine ... like in all things, Worf will be denied his desires

The Baroness album covers are stunning and drawn by their singer too!

Also the full album art for Mastodon's Leviathan by Paul Romano always stuns me:

Edward Scissorhands

For a long time I was terrified of Edward Scissorhands as a kid. I caught a promo of the film on TV when I was like five and used to have endless nightmares about him. It's only now, well over two decades later that I've actually finally gotten around to seeing it and facing that shadowy figure.

Visually very striking and its first hour or so is completely engrossing - it's got a very strong style, a host of interesting characters and excellent comic timing (also it's truly majestic to see Vincent Price hanging about). However as it drags to its melodramatic conclusion the pace slows, the fairytale premise runs a little thin and the logical holes become a little hard to stomach.

Nice to finally dispel the childhood fear of the character and not at all hard to see where it's cult appeal lies but doesn't quite entirely do it for me.
