From the 'Make a Dredd sequel' Facebook page:

QuoteSEQUEL NEWS!

From an UNCONFIRMED SOURCE, it has come to this page's attention that DNA Films will be reviewing the blu-ray/DVD sales of DREDD in the coming weeks and will be deciding whether or not to make a sequel. If this is true, let's show them how much we want that sequel! If you haven't already, please buy the DVD or blu-ray! More news soon!

With SDCC just around the corner is it possible they could be thinking about making an announcement at the con?

I honestly think that the Greg Staples cover is my favourite Dredd image of all time! Would love a print of it (or, if I could afford it, the original...).
The comic itself is great was really good as well. Looking forward to the final part, whenever it lands. Do we have an E.T.A on it?

My LCS (a regular Forbidden Planet) goes at $2.99 = £2.45 and $3.99 = £3.30. It is a little steep but they are the only local one so they don't have any competition to underprice them. (I'd love to open my own store but thats another story.).

It's really harsh when they are charging £3.30 for a $3.99 comic yet I managed to find the new Superman Unchained (which has a $4.99 price) online for £3.25!

So, any boardies coming along tomorrow?

There is apparently going to be Star Wars characters there (think it's the 99th Garrison but could be wrong) so a couple of Judges would be great.

Comic-con is coming up. Could be a massive surprise announcement an exact year after the premier at last years con... *fingers crossed*

For the boardies in the North East a Movie, TV, Sci-Fi and collectors fair at The Arc in Stockton. 40odd dealers across 2 floors.
This is the first time they've tried something like this at The Arc so hopefully it'll be a success and they'll do more.
The link is here https://www.facebook.com/events/573511416016745. Hopefully some of ou guys can make it.

Yep, this one.

That was it! Loved that cover, probably still the best of the end of year specials.

Nice to see this thread/ idea really took off  ::) lol

i think a 2000AD or similar aimed at a younger audience is great idea if not viable. Judge Dredd: Lawman of the Future was my step gap into 2000AD (which I had always considered to be an "adult" comic) so these things do work.
It did always seem strange to me that they would launch a comic aimed at kids for a movie rated '15' so none of them could go and see it. I guess it would be the same with Dredd 3D now.

General / The great 2000AD battle royale

I was flicking through some of the year end specials and came across one of them (forget which one) which has a tournament pitting series against series to determine who was the ultimate 2000AD character. The winner was
Johnny Alpha
.

I thought we could have a bit of fun with the idea but instead of series vs series how about any character from any series in 2000AD (or the Meg, let's make it interesting...) vs any other character from any other series (or even the same series, who would win out of Johnny Alpha or Wulf for example).
Rules are easy:

• First post picks the match then the next post decides the winner (giving a reason for that decision) and then picks the next fight. If two people post results for the same fight then whoever post first is determined the decider and there post is next in the game.
•   It might also be a good idea to say which series each character is from if it's not really obvious, to avoid confusion.
•   Once you have picked a fight you need to wait at least 3 fights before you can pick a winner again, that way more people get a turn.
•   Lastly lets try and keep the fights even as well, there is no point suggesting something like Satanus vs Walter the Wobot as we all know Walter would win lol.

I'll start things off then:

D.R versus Quinch

FIGHT!

I'll vouch for Fury Max.
It's utterly brilliant!

I still haven't got round to reading it, I must make a note of it!

Going on some of my personal favourites, and stuff i've read recently I would recommend:

Defoe: 1666
Top Ten Book 1 & 2
Gotham Central Books 1-4
Akira Vol 1-6
Blacksad
Bone
Sweet Tooth Vol 1-6
Absalom
Leviathan
The Underwater Welder
B.P.R.D
Punisher Max Vol 1-10
The Incal
