I too feel a bit sorry for the bad rap Atari E.T. gets. It's not a bad game at all, in fact it's pretty clever given the technology it was made on. The problem is it's become the symbol of the market crash of 1983, not really it's fault.
I like this thread a lot by the way.

I've got a real soft spot for Bendatti Vendetta, I hope it comes back. I love the 70s-ness of it. I have to face the fact that I'm never going to be a 1970s art critic/assassin working for an albino spymaster called Mr Dragon, so I'll take whatever I can get.

Also, BRING BACK CHARLEY!!!

General / Dredd in Gamesmaster
25 January, 2008, 01:18:28 AM
There's a nice little feature on Dredd computer games in the current issue of Gamesmaster Magazine. It has a rundown of all the old ones from the Spectrum to Judge Dredd Pinball, and discusses what a GTA style Dredd game could be like. The writer knows his stuff, and clearly has impeccable taste as he describes Dredd as "Incontestably the greatest comics character."
All very positive and made me smile.

The biscuit/bar conundrum, the sandwich proportions, and now this extraordinary statement. The board is tearing itself apart.
I hope you're proud of yourself Callahan, you monster.

Two slices of bread = one sandwich, however many bits you cut it into. Don't be a big mentalist and say otherwise.

It looks absolutely fuck all like The Spirit, apart from the title nothing in that trailer would make me think of Will Eisner or the comic.

Trailers often use off the shelf music as the score might not be finished yet, favourites are Clint Poppie's Requiem For A Dream tune and that plinky plonky one off American Beauty. I hope Ennio is doing it like!

Incidentally Sergio Aragones and Mark Evanier have taken over The Spirit comic, just got their first few issues the other day, looking good!

I was a bit disappointed when Shakara started talking, I'd convinced myself he communicated by whistling and honking his horn like Harpo Marx.

Great prog though!

Books & Comics / Re: Morrison's Doom Patrol...

Those Doom Patrols are among my all time favourite comics, and are indeed very special.

It was the first American comic I actively followed month to month, and the first time I ever visited a comic shop (Timeslip in Newcastle) was to look for DP back issues.

I also think it inspired Simon Bisley to produce the best work of his career on cover duties.

Please avoid the Rachel Bollock era after Morrisons run. The Ted Mckeever art their one redeeming feature.

I think we're just driving up for the day, it's not that far for us.
