I loved it. I was hoping it would at least be alright because I love giant monster movies, but I wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much.
I really got into it and found it absolutely terrifying.

Floyd- I remember reading once that a lot of Japanese people liked the American Godzilla because they found it sort of charming to see a foreign version of one of their cultural icons. Is there any truth to that? I quite like it myself for similar reasons.

I'm actually quite excited about Cloverfield. We need more giant monsters. That's just a fact.

It's time for a remake of Gorgo.

I once heard Sword of Shannara described as "Lord of The Rings with the serial numbers filed off" :)

I'm bidding on a copy of 48, I haven't read a James Herbert for ages and it sounds great.

I had no idea The City was worth so much money, I bought it in The Works or somewhere similar for about a quid. Wish I'd bought a pile of them now!

Yeah Swan Song is a fantastic book, I'd highly recommend that one.

Shannara is set thousands of years in the future I think, Fred Saberhagen did something similar too.

Stephen King's Cell is pretty much a post apocalypse book too. I really enjoyed it.

Also, Kenneth Johnson has done a novel version of his long, long in the offing sequel to V.

I was getting it for Christmas but it's been put back to January unfortunately. I sense intimidation from The Visitors...

I've been stockpiling stuff for ages now, I like my festive period to be brimming with comics!

I've got Alan Moore's Captain Britain book which I've shamefully never read, two Nightraven books and the Albion collection, which is full of lovely extra stuff.

And my copy of The Black Dossier turned up yesterday! It's so magically put together as to be almost sexually attractive. I'm re-reading volumes 1 and 2 again first, cos the Dossier just screams "Christmas read". Don't know if my will power will hold out like!

I've paused my big re-read at a key point too, so over Christmas I'll be starting on The Judge Child.

All this and two Christmas Dredd stories, one in which he does what?!
I hope my Thrill Power receptors are up to it!

A question about Blackhawk:

Does anyone know how come Joe Staton drew the episode of Blackhawk in prog 133?
And was he the first American artist to work on 2000AD?

Why is the EE so hard to get hold of? It's ridiculous. For the casual purchase by lapsed fans it would be the top choice I would say.

Ron Smith is a genius!

sorry that didn't work properly!
Love Mean Arena, it's a great choice for an EE.
