Film & TV / Re: BBC Four Sci-Fi

The Quatermass remake is definitely out on DVD, and im sure I read somewhere A For Andromeda is coming out as well.
The same production team have also done an adaptation of the John Wyndham short story Random Quest as part of this sci fi brittania season, its on in a few weeks I think.
Last night I watched the Adam Adamant Lives! episode that was on, I thought it was brilliant! So much fun. The DVD is now on my christmas list. It was followed by a documentary too, with Doomwatch, Survivors and Blakes 7 getting the same treatment in the coming weeks. I love BBC4!

The Warriors is good fun Keef, especially if youre a fan of the film. Can you dig it?!

My favourite film tie in ever is Cobra on the spectrum. Shit film, great game. Even the redefine keys screen is funny- up, down, left, right, murder. its a classic!

I watched the repeat last night and enjoyed it as silly knockabout japery, apart from the bizarre cloth dyeing bloke and his page 3 daughter. Why were they in a weird raised platform/ ditch complex in the middle of nowhere? and if they were dyers why werent they all stained funny colours and surrounded by buckets of piss? Daftness. Keith Allen was great though!

News / Re: TOM FRAME - OUR DROID.........
16 July, 2006, 07:37:18 PM
Ive just heard this tragic news, and my thoughts are with Tom's family and friends. For me the perfect creative team will always be Wagner, Ezquerra and Frame.Dredd won't be the same without you Tom.

I played spot the pipe after it was mentioned in a previous thread, and drokk, its everywhere! I saw it least 6 times.
Have to admit every time I watch Dredd I like it more, maybe because it could have been so much worse, like League of Excremental Gentlemen : )

Games / Re: GTA - for real!
19 June, 2006, 05:56:24 AM
That video is brilliant!
if youve played the vigilante mission on any of the GTA games you know that law enforcement degenerates into a Maniac Cop style killathon, I had more trouble avoiding the cops than shooting the criminals!
Im sure theres a way round it for a GTA: Big Meg game, maybe similar to the good cop/bad cop system in True Crime Streets of LA. Mind you, thats not a great game : )
Imagine jacking an H Wagon though...

I really enjoyed tonights episode, in fact its probably one of my favourites of the second series so far. Liked it more than the ropey cybermen story! Is it me or did the monster in the scooby doo opening scene look a bit like Billie Piper? yeah, probably just me... : )

General / ooh origins
16 June, 2006, 08:38:51 PM
Hiya! I used to post here all the time but havent done for ages, so I thought Id kind of reintroduce myself. Ive been reading 2000AD since prog 199, when Captain Skank was still at large! I still love my weekly dose of thrill power all these years later.
I cant remember the last time I was looking forward to a new thrill so much as I am for Origins though, and Im finding myself drawn back to the board more and more in anticipation!
Im also really enjoying The VCs, Dante and Red Seas, but missing Charleys War bigtime.
In the real world Im Ben Clark so hello to everyone I met at Bristol.
Cant wait for 1500!

Film & TV / Re: Mike Neville retires
18 June, 2006, 03:36:36 AM
I always thought Roger Mellie was based on Mike Neville too, but the real inspiration was another north east news presenter called Rod Griffiths, dont know much about him though. Theres a picture of him with Chris Donald in Chris's Viz history book Rude Kids.

Let me assure the good people of Britain, Mike Neville might be retiring from presenting the news but his days of fighting crime are far from over!
Mike Neville: The Complete Casefiles is coming soon(ish) from Magic Beans Comics! Its gonna have all of his previous adventures and stacks of new material like Mike Neville Vs The Pod People, and Young Mike Neville.Im working on it!
