As much as I love Soylent Green, The Omega Man and Planet of The Apes, my favourite Charlton Heston film is El Cid. I just adore that film. I think I'll watch it again tonight to remember one of the all time greats.

He was great Paul Scofield. If you haven't seen A Man For  All Seasons, well, you should watch it cos it's great.

Sad news.
It's a Swiss name, I think I read once all the world's Gygaxes can trace their lineage back to one castle in Switzerland. Probably set him on the geekward path!

I had that bike too, Bart. Very sad news indeed, this. Evel Knievel can't be dead, for Christ's sake!
I feel as old as Methuselah :(

Film & TV / Re: Twenty Fawer.

ooh I'll have to watch that prequel if only to see Jacks mullet!
24 is my absolute favourite tv show,I love it! season 5 has started out on a real high.
Id recommend the show to any tooth fan, because I think Jack Bauer is the most Dredd-like character in tv or films right now.Like Dredd they arent afraid to kill off major characters, and if nukes are involved theres a good chance they'll actually detonate!
yeah its ludicrous, and characters return with new haircuts and 2 stone lighter when in show terms theyve been gone 6 hours, but its the most fabulously entertaining and exciting programme in the world. and you can get 24 top trumps too!

Id love to see Return To Armageddon in EE,its bonkers and it was the first non Dredd strip that got me hooked back in the day (well that and Meltdown Man).
Or what about the vast amounts of Daily Star Dredds that arent even fully documented on this site, never mind available to read? DSDs arent everyones cup of tea but its an unloved, forgotten corner of Dredd that deserves to be seen I think.
ps this is my first post for bloody ages so hello!

I'd be interested to know who buys Commando too. My local Smiths is always well stocked but I've never seen anyone else buying it.
