Grud, I've struggled to find this issue, anyone else have problems? I looked everywhere.
Finally got it yesterday in a comic shop ironically, I was horrified to learn what a loser that makes me in the thrilling article about comic shops.

Dredd and the fantasy TV and Gerry Finley Day articles definite highlights, I've got a bit of a soft spot for Black Atlantic too.
Xmas Dredd next month!

There's a great episode about someone getting Rabies, and I think rats were a problem in the London set 2 parter. Its all there in the brilliant original! The problem I'm having is that this remake is taking bits almost verbatim from it and doing them not as good. I am enjoying it quite a bit but it lacks the fearless edge the original had. The Looter was one of the most shocking things I had ever seen when I saw it first time round, they kind of fluffed the impact here (and used it in trailers too...) I was really hoping that they would do what Dawn of The Dead and Battlestar Galactica managed, taking the basics of the original version and telling their own story.
I'll shut up now :)
After doing a bit of research, it seems I completely missed the fact that Dr Hurt is in fact The Devil. Say what?!
I still read Teletext! page 501 and gamecentral every day. I've still got a video too :)

As a survivor of Superman 75 (this knacker offered me a fiver for it as i was in the queue in FP, I knew it would put my kids through university though) I wasn't arsed about Batman dying or anything, I know it'll be temporary at best, I was just hoping for a satisfying end to the story, which I don't think I got. Calling it the biggest shock in 70 years of Batman is a bit rich when I couldn't actually see a shock in there. I'll get back to you when I understand it a bit better!
I've been reading Marvel DC books since I was a teenager, and never in my life have they felt so insular, uninviting and cliquey. There are some great books out there but on the whole they don't seem like they even want to attract a wider audience, they would rather keep on bilking the same people again and again.
Just tell me a fucking story, don't blow off Flash Thompson's legs in Iraq to make an emotionally manipulative point.
Daring to praise Jeph Loeb for a moment, Red Hulk, while daft and brainless, was actual fun, which I could show to a norm any day of the week. Batman RIP? No chance.

Soz to keep going on about the original, but it's all fun and games while there's tins of beans to find in the shops, but the cold winter isn't far away! That's pretty much the whole point of the programme. They're the survivors of the end of the world, not just the flu virus. It takes a while for that to sink in for some!

I enjoyed it! could have been edgier and it's practically a straight up remake of the first few eps of the original, but it had some real moments, and I'm looking forward to the next one. Doctor Who made a good Greg Preston, and Philip Rhys and the little lad were ace. What happened to Freema Agyeman did she die? I missed that bit.
Hope it turns out as grim as the original!
"Hey, it's Patrick Troughton! Oh, they've dumped his body in the canal..."
Ep 4 had some juicy Dawn of The Dead references, it's also the goriest thing I've seen in a long time. I was nearly behind that sofa! I'm so excited about the finale tonight.

You, Sir, should be the Director General.
That idea could be lucrative enough to light one's crackpipe with 50 quid notes.

I liked how season 2 is basically all about Valchek getting pissed off about his stupid stained glass window... :)

I think they only barely got season 5 made, and had to drop the episode numbers to save money. Cutty was a real miss, and there was gonna be a plot about
Cheese being Randy's father
too.
And that thing you speak of, yeah.
I never believed for one minute that Lester would go along with it all.
That's my only misgiving in 5 years worth of Wire though.
Gotta disagree with the Huffster about the finale though, I loved it.
Michael becoming the new Omar, Dukie becoming the new Bubbles, Valchek becoming the new fucking Chief! Poetry.
At some point between next year and the end of time, volume 3 of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is coming out. To coincide with that I'd love to see a Kev O' Neill themed collection, with the sublime Bonjo From Beyond The Stars, Dash Decent, lots of colour covers and annual stuff and rarely seen early bits and bobs. I'd buy two, maybe three :)

Controller of Radio 2 has gone now, crazy.

Mind you I'm still furious about the Hutton Inquiry.

Jim off Neighbours is the hardest working man in showbiz :)

I pray that it's not James Nesbitt, I can't stand him. I really don't think I could watch it with him in it.

I thought they might have persuaded him to do series 5 to help ease in the Moffatt Years, but I'm not really too surprised. Good luck to him! Paterson Joseph next?
