Just "borrowed" your icon till my one gets added, Usher.  It's better than a red 'X'.

This should work now, cross-fingers...

Judge Dredd:
Good overall, but that ending didn't sit right with me. It wouldn't have been any worse if they'd high-fived each other and gone "WHOO, YEAH!" (One of those 'oh, it wasn't really Dredd' moments, I'm afraid.)

VCs:
Lots of noble sacrifice. Looking forward to the entire universe being destroyed by the Polity at the end of this series so that there's no chance of any more of this guff.

Red Seas:
Did one of their barrels blow up one of the enemy ships? I do like this art style but sometimes it's a bit hard to tell which pony-tailed pirate you're looking at from the back, and what exactly is happening. These are niggles, though, about an excellent strip.

London Falling:
I hope there's a happy ending. He'll patch things up with his family, right? Right? (So, the other bloke that pulled a knife on Shuck, he was a gay goblin in love with Shuck from way back, but it was unrequited? Is that right? And the reason Jack didn't turn up to help him was that he'd been held up by the Redskull dude with the eyes in his pocket. Yes?)

Must just point out (in case it's not obvious) that the gif is not my work:  although it is a favourite.  I found it on the infobahn somewhere years ago.

I was just testing out if an <img> tag worked or not, and it does...groovy.

The only comic shop within 50 miles of my current location stocks nothing of any quality, in poor conditions and is watched over by the most sullen creature outside of Zrag.

I bet he keeps all the good stuff in the back.

Poor old Ricardo Montalban - from being cool in Fantasy Island, to being uber-cool in Wrath of Khan, to The Colbys (even worse spin off of famed 80s soap, Dysentery).

Shirley his mention in Judge Dredd was another high point of his career (along with The Naked Gun).

Anyway - yes - Max Normal was barely tolerated by me.  I always thought "maybe this character made sense before I started reading".

Pinstripe - yes.  Freak - yes.

(I thought everyone had given up on this thread so I read a few issues ahead:  guess I'm out of the game.)

Aye, originally, the Judges appeared to be an elite police force, working alongside regular cops.

The creators seem to have brushed that under the carpet and moved quietly into a situation where there are no police, just Justice Department.

There are Judge-drivers in Anderson Psi (circa prog 521) that have two plain shoulder pads, and obviously a plethora of other uniforms (for meds, teks and so on).

Note that the riot squad dude in a close up shot does have a small eagle emblem on his arm, so he's Justice Department.  He might be an "auxiliary", whatever that is:  JD makes a reference to this position in Meg 230.

Dredd authorises the use of stumm gas [first time this is ever used in Dredd?].

Block wars have sprung up all along the northern sectors.

Chief Judge Griffon has an incredily large pointy stick.

There we go:  the images are much smaller now, and there's just the one post left with the broken links in it.

The reason I put the images up was because a few posters were saying they don't have the progs, and I thought it would be in-keeping with the thread to pop a couple of covers up to give people without progs a flavour.

However, if the majority of people just find this kind of input irritating I will desist - just let me know.
