Quote from: broodblik on 13 December, 2023, 07:14:11 AMAnderson again is drawn as a hot babe, but the timeline is never established here so let's just live with it.

The intro blurb on the contents page gives the same year as Dredd - 2145.

I know it's a bit silly to care, but still.

A continuity nerd writes: that's Anderson's daughter. Try to keep up.  :D

Quote from: JohnW on 11 December, 2023, 11:29:04 AMIt kept my finger poised for quite a while over the 'buy now' button for the complete Bone

Years ago, I asked for recommendations for comics to read to Mini-Solo, and Colin said "Whatever the question is - the answer is Bone." We got it, we read it - it was a resounding success. Years later now - it still gets regular re-reads, and gets quoted a lot - especially the squabbling creatures.

(Color's neither here nor there.)

Quote from: warmachineuk on 10 December, 2023, 11:38:07 PMHmm... I do not have DM rights on this forum and Gmail is bouncing my requests to the administrator. Thus, I cannot contact him to request posting privileges.  How annoying.

I'll try reporting your post to the moderator (IP) and see if that manages to squeak the wheel. I have noticed that this place quietens down over the weekend, so, y'know - you'll have to be all Zen Master about the whole thing.

A core part of what made 2000 AD such a joy to read when I was a kid. Without his art, whither the comic we still enjoy today?

Quote from: Le Fink on 09 December, 2023, 06:14:51 PMTrash - I read it at the time and have no recollection of the story or art at all.

No blame attached, there.

It's one of those 90s thrills where you could enjoy the art (it's by Nigel Dobbyn, whose art I always enjoyed), but the story was a bit meandering. Eco-Bobby Trask has been teleported in from London (I would say) and is up against a mutant mega-plant that has taken over Central Park. The real enemy? Shady something corporate something explosions blah.

Quote from: Le Fink on 09 December, 2023, 08:55:34 AMCan someone remind me what the Christmas Povey and Traskmaster refer to?

Povey will be Yassa Povey, the young Cursed Earth boy who helped out The Dead Man, but suffered for it.

Trask - I *think* that's the name of the main character from Trash.

Prog / Re: Prog 2361 - Drokk Solid! Jo Stands His Ground

I was thinking I should look at my data, because what else is there in life?

And I found this:

I only count 100% jump-ons, so there are some progs labeled as "four new thrills" (for example) that don't make the cut. Those are jump-ish, not jump-on. I suppose you could do a color-coded chart where the data gets a hotter color the more new thrills it has, which would give a better idea of how easy it is for a noob to get on board. Then again, a totally new story (rather than a second book) is probably easier and should score higher. Then, you'd want to rationalize for number of stories in that issue, and ... HOOK! HOOK! TOOT! TOOT!
