I can't quite get over how incredibly phallic that is.

I was wondering the same thing re re-subscribing before it's due.

My question:  do they charge you now for the new sub even though it doesn't start until Easter-ish?

Growing up, Belardinelli (with that very distinctive signature) was an integral part of the prog for me.  He was right up there, shoulder-to-shoulder with Bolland, McMahon, O'Neill & Dillon.

And in those days, it was the artists I was a fan of, not the writers.  As far as I was concerned, Meltdown Man and Ace Trucking Co. were Belardinelli creations.  I still have no idea who wrote them.

I see what you mean about mixed emotions.  Don't know whether to laugh or cry at his drawing - there's humour in there, of course, and the flying bubbles dripping what look like blood are quite disturbing.  What an imagination.

What's that in his pants, though?

I first heard it referred to as "tooth" years ago, and I'm sure it was self-referential, possibly in a sci-fi special or yearbook (in some article or interview).

And it took me some time to figure out what it meant.

Only the plots remain intact, I'm afraid, Bou.  The scripts and locations have been well and truly modernised.

I just checked the beeb site and unfortunately that was the last ShakespeaRe-Told in the series.  Hopefully, they'll get a repeat.

This series on BBC1 is great - I didn't get into the Macbeth one so much (it was very dark and grimy, reminding me too much of The Cook The Thief His Wife And Her Lover) but last week's Taming of the Shrew was hysterical and tonight's A Midsummer Night's Dream wonderful (and packed to the gills with quality actors).

I think I must bow to the superior knowledge of an actual walking, talking, typing Tiplodocus.

Oh yeah, and that ex-comic editor Computer thing.

Not to mention a two-headed, beheaded canine of fable and legend that has been attached to a highly efficient mechanical device the like of which could not be constructed using our current real-world level of technology.

So there!

Adopt dramatic stance ... only a malfunctioning robotic lawyer can get to the bottom of this!

Good point, Jim.  I'd forgotten the second half of that quote.

Dredd took the long walk, remember, because he no longer agreed with the Justice Department on some key issues (the harsh treatment of the peaceful people within the democratic movement and the decision to use an ex-Judda as a Judge).

Judge Dredd has broken the law on several occasions, of course.  When the conspirators asked him to join them in taking down McGruder, he refused, but he didn't arrest them.  He punched Acc-Div Judge Quimby in the face.  He allowed DeMarco to kiss him and failed to arrest her for assaulting a Judge, and then later failed to arrest her for drunk and disorderly in charge of a licensed firearm.  Recently, he failed to arrest his niece for assaulting a Judge when she pushed him out of her apartment.

Judge Dredd follows this coda:

"I stand four square for Justice!"

Justice, even with a capital 'J', isn't always The Law.
