Beautiful stuff Jock. Would it be possible for us to see the cover to Losers 10 (that is the polaroid one, right?) when it's all coloured up? Cause the black and white was nice but I want to see it complete...

Actually, is anybody still involved with the editing of 2k that might have had problems with McKenie? Other people have had rucks with Tharg and are now completing multi-book serials for the weekly and stories for the Meg, to boot.

From my brief on-line dealings with McKenzie he seems a nice enough guy, and Luke Kirby is fondly remembered. Maybe he could be brought back into the droid-fold?

Ponder Stibbons, a Pratchett character also has the same look as Hunter, Kirby, and Potter. In fact Terry tells a tory about a reader holding a picture up of Ponder and saying 'You ripped of J.K., didn't you?'. Terry apparantly pointed out the copyright date of the picture and sent him away to find a copy of the Philosophers Stone and compare and contrast the copyright date of that.

It must be a sort of generic look for young-ish magicians.

Yeah, that's in Summer Magic which is a sort of pilot for the series proper. I'm very fond of Luke and think the series would be an interesting one to relaunch.

Bump him on so that 12 or so years have passed. He'll be the same age as a lot of readers now, and it'll be 1977. An older character exploring the world that launched 2k with a more active part for the lead and you could have a hit.

Got to be Ridgeway on art duties though.

I've just run that image through the X-ray machine Blackthrash and it says 'This a fake' under the paint.

The short fellah in pink looks really interested in something off camera there. Wonder what it was...

Yeah, a nice touch. Don't know what I'm going to do with it though.

Proper review later, I suppose.

D.D. - I was worried about Savage until I heard Matt Smith talk about it at Dredd-con. It's not a send up or a spoof, it's a straight sequal. Invasion was set in 2000, and now it's 2004 and Savage is returning to Britain from Canada. It's a tale of guerilla warfare and terrorism and sounded like a really interesting use of the character. I look forward to it.
