That was clearly a calculated insult Stodge, so I'll taunt you by saying that I get it every Monday, bright and early.

Oh, and we did raise a glass to you at Shedcon:1, as promised.

Just be glad you don't live in Knutsford. A mate of mine used to live there and the only newsagent refused to stock it because it 'wasn't appropriate'.

No help that is it. Sorry.

Yeah, names shouldn't be made public until found guilty. In any crime. It's fair and just that the victims get privacy, but so should the accused.

There's been stuff about Jimmy Saville in the papers for years. I remember an interview where he said that he's not interested in kids, but they've always been interested in him. He was a D.J. so kids thought he knew their favourite Pop stars. He presented a kids show in which he granted their wishes so they thought that if they asked him personally he'd give them things.

He also said he won't be alone with children, because he doen't want any accusations. Aparantly he saw a screaming child once and paid someone else to look after her rather than do it himself in case a paper had set him up.

So he's probably paranoid. I'd be surprised if it were with any reason though.

I took it to mean that there will be a photo cover or two during the next Durham Red run, like the Devlin Waugh photo cover, and the Nikolai Dante one, both from about four years ago.

Yeah, there was a lot of fun to be had spotting people and references in 'Scarlet Traces'. Off the top of my head the last episode had references to the TeleTubbies, Dads Army and in one panel alone the Whitechapel Murders, the novels of Kim Newman, and the films of Julia Roberts.

At Dreddcon:3 I mentioned how much I'd enjoyed spotting references to Ian Edgington who asked me had I spotted the three Quatermasses? I hadn't, had you?

General / Letters, Pray?

I'm enjoying reading the old progs I just bought and one reason is for the letters. So far I've found Wake's autobiography, P.V.S. disguised as a monk, Oddboy praising 'Killer', and in one prog Si and Logan being sarcastic about Slaine.

So if you've had a letter printed let me know where so I can flick straight to it.

Cheers.

This truth we, the message board irregulars, hold to be self evident -

We want a collected edition of David Bishops 'Thrill Power Overload' series from the Megazine. Extended if possible. We are willing to buy it as and when you make it available.

Signed
David X. Brunt.

(Come on people, add your names under this. Don't make me look any dumber than my hair-cut already does.)

I thought that as well. Or at least I'd commented that it's nice to see Nicholas Courtney in 2k.

I thought it stood for Quatermaster (which is what Q. in Bond is short for) but in this context it might well be a development of Quatermasses 'British Rocket Group'.
