I'd certainly be glad to see the Redondo chapters reprinted. Quality issues would be weighed off against the rarity value. But then I'd buy any Nemesis book you put out. A reprint of a Nemesis story was the first 2K story I ever read.

What are the chances of 'Judgement Day' to go along with the other Garth Ennis collections?

They only gave some of the characters silly voices. And there is a history of silly characters in Dredd.

If Eusless from this months meg were to appear (in flashback, obviously) they'd have to give him silly voices. It's one of tbe things I like about Dredd, the fact that the sublime live alongside the ridiculous and you never know what's coming next.

The most blatant example of swiping I can think of is of some Brian Bolland art.

Towards the end of the Grant Morrison penned J.L.A. story 'Rock of Ages' the regular artist is assisted with the double length climax by a second artist. There's a sequence where the Joker is rendered sane and regrets what he's been doing. The images of the Joker, hand over face, could almost have been traced from the Bolland drawn 'The Killing Joke'. It's unbelievable that he got away with it.

Pastiches are fine (J.L.I. #1 - with the hero's posing as they look out at the reader is one that's done all the time...) but that's just stealing

And of course Ms. Jones would set up a vegetarian restaraunt.

'The Sallad of Halo Jones'.

Zenith would end up trying to recapture fame by auditioning for a Big Brother, Survivor, Eden, Pop Stars, Pop Idol ad infinitum.

The remaining Dark Judges could form a band to appeal to stupid-teens-who-want-to-be-different-but-aren't-don't-have-enough-sense-to-listen-to-any-one-who-isn't-a-Slipknot-clone.

Johnny and Wulf could get jobs as Traffic Wardens.

Durham Red and Nikolai Dante could be a porn stars. Hey, they're practically there already...

The Tempest, generally believed to have been based on topical events as opposed to being a re-write of an older play, or poem, or history book.

All writers re-use ideas from timt to time. Shakespeare only wrote one 'original' play in his whol life...

Or really dislike it, like me? One of the least good 'Dredd' stories I can remember reading.

Yeah, as I remember he did say that here. There was a thread (700 and something) where Jamie discussed upcoming trades and 'Portrait' & 'Grab' were to be volume 1 of  'Strontium Dog'.

Amazon list a 'Strontium Dog' book as costing ?11.99 and being releaesed on the 26th of July. Mind you they also list 2 volumes of 'Zenith' as having been recently released. Shame that they haven't.

Yeah, this months meg is mighty fine indeed.

'Hellboy' isn't so much a superhero as a paranormal investigator. I don't know where I read this but to paraphrase it's like the 'X-files' being investigated by an X-file. I think it's a fine addition to the line up.

As for the re-prints, good stories as they are I'd rather it was something that hasn't been reprinted before. The 'Visible Man from issue 8 was a good choice because I'd never even heard of it before. There must be more like this... Alans comments in the letter col that 'Portrait of a Mutant' is high on the re-print wish list dissapointed me. Titan are definatley going to print it, I'd rather they didn't step on each others toes...

I was suprised that 'Middenface McNulty' was returning, and that 'Durham Red' is coming over to the Meg but perhaps the new 'Strontium Dog' C.D.'s mean it makes sense to run things that tie in with the new range.

The Dredd story was the only weak link for me. After Alan comments disparagingly on comics that use farting and female obesity as a source of humour it was perhaps unfortunate that the lead strip opened with a joke about a man who want's to fart for a living and his comically fat mother...
