Film & TV / Scooby Doo
10 April, 2009, 11:16:46 AM
For all of you who have children nephew's etc, I would fully recommend Scooby Doo and the Pirate Ghost live on stage.
My dad in law took Robbie to see this the other day and it is all he is raving about and Grandad enjoyed it as well.
Didn't go to see this myself but from Robbies reaction it is a must for your kiddies.

Thank you all for your kind words of support for my daughters plight.
Sophie has now been taken of the ventilator and sedation. Hopefully we have now turned a corner and she can start her recovery. Still in CICU but most of the pipes and wires are unplugged and disconnected.
I am running on automatic at the moment but a great weight has been lifted of my shoulders and perhaps I can get my first decent nights sleep since Sunday.

Sorry for hijacking the life spugs thread wasn't intended hopefully normal service will resume.

Isn't there enough misery in the world without a small group of scum trying to ignite the horror of Northern Ireland.
Small minded people like these deserve nothing. It just beggers belief as to the mentality of it all.
My thoughts go out to the families of the two servicemen that were needlessly killed.

Off Topic / The honeymoon period over
11 February, 2008, 10:03:42 PM
Well tomorrow I start back work after nearly three years looking after my son and being a house husband. This time is will be permanent as the missus was really starting to hate her job and when her maternity leave is up I doubt she will go back to work.

If any of you male boarders get the chance, do it. This was probably the best choice I have ever taken in my life. I got some great quality time with my son and trust me it is alot easier than women make out. It is about time more men got in on the act.

Film & TV / The Thing 2 (prequal)
30 January, 2008, 10:54:25 PM
I heard whispers of this quite a few months ago thinking this doesn't need one as the 82 version was sound and still holds out visually, then totally forgot about it.

Rummaging around on random Google searches happened across this one and the concept arts look astounding.

I suppose only time will tell on this one.

Film & TV / The butterfly effect ALT
28 January, 2008, 09:05:17 PM
Watched this again last night on C4 but this one had a different ending to the one I remembered. SPOILER

The one I first saw throughout the film his mother's misscarriage count kept going up after each major change of the time line, and the ending he strangled himself with his umbilical chord in him mothers womb.

The one last night had none of the misscarriages and the semi-happy ending, going back to the first time he met his love and the Eight years later chance walkby kind of spoilt the dark tone to the movie. Still ok though.

Was there a reason they changed the movie or is it just the fact that they had to decent idea endings?

Also How many more films out there have alternative endings that I may have missed?

Off Topic / My new arrival
23 January, 2008, 09:59:14 PM
I took my missus to the hospital this morning to be induced as she was 2 week late. At 12:00 they broke her waters to start the ball rolling.

They fed her the necessary drug to bring on the contractions at 14:00. This is when all hell broke loose, half hour later the contractions started coming at very regular inervals and pretty soon they were less than a minute apart and Karen was in tremendous pain and begging for an epidural, which me and the midwife eventually drew her away from.

At 15:30, with her only 5 centimeters dilated her urge to push was overwhealming, but again was talked around.

Finally at 16:24 she gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl.

It makes the day all worth while, but it has left me absolutly shattered with a stonking headache. With my son sound asleep in bed I am going to join himhttp://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff200/vzzbuxblx/gsdd019a.jpg">

I came across this little item and wondered if this is the start of the end for a choice between the two.

If there is going to be a hybrid machine then a choice of both is an option.

Does anyone out there know any more on this subject.

My bro in law said something interesting on criggy day that in a number of upcoming marvel movies there will be on scene which will link them all, Hulk, Spiderman, Iron man to name a few, hinting on an avengers film or the like.

Can anyone shed any light on the subject.

Help! / too big to email
20 December, 2007, 04:43:27 PM
I have some video footage that I am trying to email but are too big. They range from 30mb to 70mb. Is there anyway to compress them to a size without losing quality so I can send them via email?

I am a bit of a computer retard. I have tried .zip .rar etc but to no avail as files dont shrink much.

I am not holding much hope but there are quite afew of you out there with computer smarts.

General / DC Dredd
16 December, 2007, 10:33:58 PM
I've just managed to get hold of quite a few DC Dredds for next to nothing, both comics, and couldn't believe the story arc they had I mean cryogenic rounds  tsch.

I think that the only way to bury this demon would be to do a cross dimension story with pussy DC Dredd face to face with the one true Dredd we know and love/hate.

I haven't properly sat down and read them thouroughly yet just perused through. Thus giving me a busy christmas period of these and some early Vol 3 megs I've aquired.
