The organism could have used much energy creating such a large mass and I am presuming much of it is [spoiler]wiped out leaving the dog and the burnt mass in the Norwegean site left[/spoiler]. Such a shock may have limited its ability thus slowing it down, or even prolonged exposure to our environment having a numbing effect on it over time. Who knows, it is alien after all.

All i want from 3D is for things in the distance to look far away (like in thor's asgardian scenes, and the space bit at the end) and for things to fly out of the screen at me. The latter is more important. The more eyeballs, knives, bloodspurts, harpoons and bits of exploding building/ vehicle/ person that fly at my face, the better. Being 'artistic' has nothing to do with it.

Final Destination five is perfect for most of the 3D money shots you have just described. Took the missus to see this last week and was a great spat fest. Fully enjoyed this. Nice bit of fan wank at the end.
If it is still on in 3D you will enjoy this SBT.
Andrew Osmond's review in the Meg was pretty spot on though.
