Yeah, really have to heavily disagree about Dean Ormston's art there.

My first ever Black Museum story was pretty exciting to me for a couple of reasons - I was writing a Dreddworld story! I'd managed to get in a panel of Dredd saying "Drokk!", so I could vaguely claim to have written Dredd (even if it was just a sneaky backdoor Dredd) and, it being MegaCity One, I could make terrible punny jokes with Block Names.

So, anyway, that's why I am inordinately proud of the Catherine Tate Block Museum of Modern Art.

Sam Worthingham?

Well, these days I always think I look like a balding potato with stubble, so I suppose that's good.

In Thrillpower Overload Ennis mentions that he probably would have done better without some of the weirder art choices and with a stronger editorial hand - I'm inclined to agree on both counts, in particular the last one - some of his stories are just so weak they shouldn't have been let near the page, particularly the wackier one-shots, but on stories he really got his teeth into he was actually a pretty passable Dredd writer. And his Dredd was always a recognisably Wagnerian Dredd, even when he was in the middle of some stupid throwaway situation involving exploding teddy bears with huge guns that sing 90s pop hits, or what have you.

PJ is probably bored of me saying this, but there is something rather pleasingly Steve Parkhouse like about the art style he's picked for it.

I dunno, maybe I just associate bowler hats with Steve Parkhouse. Bowler hats are cool.

And I'm really looking forwards to seeing some new Simon Spurrier work that's not tied to a Marvel giga-event X-over thingie.

Oh, and it sounds like Gutsville might get finished too, which is pretty cool.

Nice to see Matt is a fan of Hitman - IMHO one of the best thing Garth Ennis ever done. I'd rate it over Preacher, TBH.

I think I promised to do you an interview once Samizdat Squad was in print, didn't I? I'm a bit hazy on the details.

I didn't even see Rufus there - was he in Twins?

I should add I was mainly talking about the Progs there. Graphic Novel distribution seems to be pretty good now, particularly the Simon & Schuster stuff.

I think its a bit of a myth that UK comics dont translate very well to the US comic market when the problem is really about distribution ,promotion and exposure which is hopefully going to improve not to mention a high profile JD film upcoming.

Yeah, current state of distribution in the US is pretty poor, and there was certainly a lot of griping about Diamonds from the US Readers I met there (and, being in the US myself, I'm pretty gripey myself). I suspect that once digital comics become more ingrained as the format of choice for casual comics reading it's going to even the playing field considerably, and the 2000ad crew have always been pretty forwards looking on that.

Yup, that's The Dead Man. Actually got a bit of a deal on that as it was one of the comics I was going to get as part of a 3 for 50 deal, and Tharg took pity on me because it was so skinny and I got another comic as well. I did really want it though, ever since getting the Case File with Necropolis not having it has kind of bothered me.
