Apparently, if you look carefully, you can see the original Losers die horribly somewhere in Crisis On Infinite Earths.

I believe there is a CD of marshal anthems out there, intended to be listened to whilst playing WH40K. I've no idea if it includes "space" special effects but somehow I find the idea of someone buying it and listening to it whilst playing their painstakingly statistical toy soldiers game far more worrying than someone playing some silly game to do with goblins.

Yeah, I thought the Hellraiser "god" thing was pretty cool, but I'm a sucker for yer floating polyhedral entities radiating beams of utter blackness.

Hobbes was a paranoid nazi if you ask me, possibly as a result of having lived through the Civil War. Fortunately the ideas of John Locke, who was a bit more of a liberal,  had as much or more effect on the course of history.

Yeah, but I believe we were discussing the wanky teenager version of existentialism (which may actually break down to being a wanky teenage version of soliphism) rather than any kind of actual real philosophy.

Well, it was six times larger than anything previously constructed and it disaster in that it never recovered its costs rather than in the it snapped in two and sank to the bottom of the ocean sense. At first it was supposed to be a passanger liner, but that flopped, and then it was relegated to laying the first transatlantic telegraph cables, an endevour that didn't go well in its early years, and then 30 years after construction it was scrapped.

I believe it may have been the first ship to have the welders-trapped-in-the-hull-during-construction urban myth attached to it, with a skeleton apparently being found when it was scrapped.

Hey, Event Horizon was alright up until the point where it became apparent that it was just going to be a shite Hellraiser rip off from that point on....

Or it could be a reference to "The Leviathon", the other propossed name for The Great Eastern, Isambard Kingdom Brunels last great engineering project, the largest ship of its time, and a massive disaster from beginning to end.

I believe there may be a documentary about it on telly this week, if your interested.
