Prog / Re: 1507 - Monsters inside. Or wha...

What the hell happened in the end of Stone Island? I was quite enjoying it until last episode where things went a bit bit peculiar, and then this episode... Well it really takes the biscuit. The conclusion reminded me of my growing sense of confusion over Black Siddha in the Meg.

Dante was wandering for a bit but this last episode was great, looking forward to it coming back soon.

Liked the opener for Chiaroscuro. I was watching The Ring last night, and I hope this story brings some more creepy freakiness with it.

I did nearly shred the prog trying to find Origins in the back, however. The confidence of the couple of "proper" street judges in taking on what looks like hundreds of baddies is a nice touch, reminds me a bit of Shanty Town with the judges defending the downed Strato-V bomber (prog *yearsago*). I am now going to resume hopping from foot to foot waiting for next weeks episode.

hop hop hop...

Geat work there, Kambei. I've always wondered why them four transdimensional superfiends see fit to march about with no footwear, not even a raggedy flip flop of decay, or a plague-sock of some description.

Would anyone like to offer a suggestion as to why they've got no boots (other than "that was the way they were designed"), and what would be suitable shoes for them?

Some great stuff there Kambei. How do you make these fellas? Are they all based on some other base figure?

I suggest a Judge Morph figure for your old Giant. Could you do a Prager? Or a Judge Souster w/stub gub in some kind hanging in the air/falling to doom type of thing?

Thank you, Jim. I like to think that it is a good likeness of myself in my carefree youth!

While poking about on photobucket, I noticed these thingys... (see link below)

Anyone any idea what these are?

Also, can someone explain what the deal is with photobucket. Are all your photos public all the time? Can you hide some and not others? Can you allow people access to the ones you give them links for, or does that just let them see all your pictures?

Cheers

Off Topic / Re: RIP Steve Irwin, Croc Hunter.....
04 September, 2006, 07:12:36 PM
It always upset me that Irwin's shows seemed to be little more than a platform for his macho bravado, leaping on creatures here and there, and with little interest in how the animals act naturally in the wild. They would start off with some potentially interesting footage of some beastie doing it's thing, with Irwin giving a bit of info about it. Then he would appear to lose interest in talking about the beastie and just run over and jump on it. One particularly disturbing bit of footage was where Irwin kept dragging a crocodile off it's nest. The animal got more and more distressed, and it wasn't clear whether the animal would abandon it's nest or not before the next clip started rolling.

While I wouldn't wish harm on anyone, I did hope that he'd get a big enough fright (a bad ferret nip, perhaps?) to relax the beastie-worrying and stick to the conservation work he was doing. Very sad for his young family, I hope his wife carries on the good work he was doing in his zoos.

I would suggest www.ankhsoft.com, but I think they only do Windows software. Useful stuff there for someone else maybe?

Cheers, TB. The dude in FP had the veneer of authenticity, but he did seem a bit pre-occupied. I'll see what the Sub-City fellas can do for me when issue 3 appears.

The fella in FP Dublin said issue 2 (and 3!) had come and gone and they had only got a couple of each in. Am I being misinformed about issue 3 being out already? Was there supposed to be a gap as suggested above?

Anyhoo, Dweezil, if you are out there, and you can hear me, let me know when your spare number 2 arrives and I will purchase it from you.

Cheers,

Hi Dweezil,

I may just have to take you up on that offer. I'll give it another couple of days though.

General / Vienna Dredd time conundrum
23 July, 2006, 02:56:18 AM
Hey,

I think I've read an explanation for this before, but right now it escapes me, and since I've been reading JD Case Files 03, it's really started to bug me.

Can someone please remind me of the explanation as to why Vienna Dredd is a child of less than 10 years of age when she first appears, while her father Rico had been on a prison on Titan for twenty years. I think there was some kind of fudge with the explanation, so I'll go along with half reasonable suggestions here...

Just read Scarlet Traces: The Great Game pt1. It's every bit as fantastic as the boarders above have said it is. Rush out and pick up a copy!

I remember reading the first Scarlet Traces story in the Meg, and there was some mention of how it was supposed to be published elsewhere first. Can anyone fill in the rest of the gaps in my knowledge. Was there another series in between that I've missed entirely?

Cheers
