That's what I'd imagined.

Reeves??? Good grief. They'd be better off getting Vic Reeves to do it!!

Another disappointment was that Peter Jackson is going to remake remake King Kong! Well, at least it won't be the WTC he climbs up this time!

Especially if you can change into the big 'fat guy' suit for a sneaky covert mission :o)

I reckon they should go for a partnership deal with Rockstar and do Grand Theft Auto: Mega City.

Imagine it! Rob a hottie stall, nab a hover-taxi, let a few rounds of at a passing juve gang, then leg it when the judges chase you. Run round the corner and into the face-change clinic to get the heat off you! :o)

One for the PS3 I think. Need a massive city. The crime scenes for the story would be endless. You could even play it as Lenny Zero!!!! Ah, now we're talking. C'mon Jock, give us your take on Tommy Vercetti! :o)

That's a tough one to lay on us given that Dredd vs Death is out in a few months!!!

I've hardly played my PS2 since I finished Vice City (apart from that damn last jump).

Tell you what, I'd give up the PS2 and play the PC Dredd at work :o)

No idea, but probably a lot less than you'd think. It's probably been on more covers than anything. Not as many times as he's said "creep".

Is that longest story ongoing or longest single story? Longest ongoing would have to be Dredd, no question. Longest story (I think) would be Meltdown Man (nearly a year)?

Umm, sorry for butting in here but Watcher did suggest all the Squaxx here should answer.

Got mine yesterday, first cup of Mean coffee last night!

Funny thing is, I ordered the set of 4 last Friday, so it looks like I was getting one ayway. BUT, it did say in the shop that it was a subscriber only offer, so I imagine that accounts for it, ALTHOUGH, if the subs one is free, then I've maybe ordered an extra one. Ah well, birthday present for someone. Or maybe I can keep it in it's original packaging for 50 years and take it on antiques roadshow :o)

Anyway, they don't seem to be in the shop anymore. Which is strange.

Damn fine mug though!!

Off Topic / Monkey in a hat, The Movie
18 April, 2003, 06:10:08 PM
Seeing as there seems to be a growing liking for monkeys in hats on this board (You know who you are!), I thought I'd share this with you.

I got a movie clip the other day. It's a joke, not a very good joke, but the difference is, the actors are monkeys. Well, they're not, technically, as anyone from the Plabet of the APes would slap me for, they're chimpanzees, but I digress. The main point is, the one telling the joke has a HAT!!! And it's one of those old gangster hats (A trilby?) that ISN'T on the poll list.

Anyway, the one with the hat is hilarious. If anyone wants it, send me a note and I'll e-mail it to you (1.4 Mb). Or alternatively Wake, you could post it on the site? It's loosely related to Don Uggi, honestly, looks a bit like him, and could well be the same hat that he wears!!!

As the original boarder said, "You know it makes sense"

Uncle, just to show how devoted I am, I entered the comp through my bookmark to the site before I even saw this thread.

Marvellous prize. It's the kind of thing I probably wouldn't buy but would love to have (for free :o).

Good grief, I haven't spoken to Tharg this nicely for ages.

Not half, they sound mental!!

Doubt you'd get to use many of them in a gun club though :o)

Only fired a few in me time in the ATC. .22 and .303 rifles, plus a 9mm Baretta, which was well good fun, possibly too much. Heavier than you imagine too!

Alan, Alan, Alan!!

I'd love to see this done. I wouldn't be so fussed about the writer, as long as Ian Gibson does the art. IMHO, the worst, most heinous thing 2000ad has EVER done was getting Rian Hughes to do Robo-Hunter. Then anyone else who did it except IG. It's like when someone else did Strontium Dog in specials or whatever. It was always crap. I'm not saying he's a bad artist, it just wasn't right for it. Plus I liked Really and Truly. Not much, but I liked it.

> My dissapointment is purely because its a bad cover

Not so sure about the ones you're compaing it to. Batman ones, fair enough, Batgirl, fwoarr. But The FLASH???? Jeebus man, get a grip.

Face it, Dredd is static cos he's steadfast, representing authority. He's still not moving on his outlook towards Orlok, who seems to be struggling somewhat with his captivity. Seems fine to me. It seems you don't like it personally, rather than it being bad (I refuse to say per se) itself.

Not his best, granted, but no way in hell am I accepting that some ultra-camp twat in a twat-suit can EVER look better than Bolland's worst ever inside page mistake, never mind a Dredd cover.

'The Flash' belongs on that pathetic 00 88 88 superhero advert, not on a serious comic board!

:o)
