Before I get myself into another argument, that wasn't meant to be a nasty reply. What is Amelie about, I've heard of it but been a bit wary.

Very true, very true. It's basically measuring the triumph of hype and advertising, although there will be a hell of a lot of Spider-Man fans out there. But anyway, by the sound of things, you've prejudged them anyway, seeing as you don't want to see them. And what the hell is Amelie? Some french bollocks or what?

Well in that case you'd be quite entitled to be pissed off about it. If it affects others then it's not on. Anyway, this is a silly er, discussion. I'm certainly not going to be taking time off to see Star Wars, and Scotland's not at the World Cup (*sob*) so...

Punished harshly? Where the fuck are you from, the army?

It's to do with people taking time off which they're entitled to, I'm not talking about taking days off sick.

Anyway, I'm glad I don't work for you!

How childish can you get? How childish is putting a fucking X into your name, Mr Burnt?

Yeah, there seems to be about 3 million different records, for biggest grossing ever, in the 1st day, 1st week. This'll be the 1st day thing, although I'd read that it was shown in far less theaters than Harry Snotter was, so that can only mean it's done vastly better. Yep, Episode'll overtake it for sure.

They should take the same stance as here, where empoyers are being asked to be lenient on people taking time off to see the World Cup.

That's very true, more likely that the theft was inspired.

Noticed it's broken the record for the first day set by Harry Snotter. Thank Grud for that!

Rather convenient publicity I thought! But then, I may be too cynical.

Yep, annuals went from 78 to 91, Dredd ones from 81 to 91. Then they both had yearbooks till 95, then nothing till Prog 2000. Also a Rogue Trooper 91 annual.

Merely trying to put blasphemy and heresy into the same sentence. For satirical purposes only, I can assure you. I've got no more against religion as such than I have against homosexuals, only the people who misuse it as a reason to hate others, which is not in anyone's god book. Apart from the bits about Sodom and Gomorrah. Oh dear, it's getting complicated now!

"I shouldn't have inflicted my personal opinion about an off-topic subject on the rest of the message board users."

No, you should, that's exactly what I did. Makes for good arguments. Whenever I rant about something and someone else bites back, it usually drags on till eventually I back down and consider that things are maybe different from what I've been thinking.

I don't blame for your reaction, as you might have been right. If you were, we'd be in a huge moster argument probably, but as you weren't, I'm sure we're all better off for the discussion it sparked off.

What a load of crap I speak sometimes!

Strange how some of the most evil people did it in the guise of good. Matthew Hopkins, Tomas de Torquemada, Will Young...

PS It's very disconcerting seeing my name several times in such a small space!

"It's like being back 500 years and getting burnt for heresy or blasphemy."

Thank Grud the religous freaks worshipping their fake Gods can't do that anymore!! :o)

I thought that was one of the more amusing/innocent ways to put it.
