Personally I find the balance of elder Han's mirth and pathos worked well in his reluctant mentor/torch-carrying role and the idea of Han & Leia being great rebels but shitty parents rings true. For me these aren't TFA's glaring issues but more that Rey's search for Luke - the outlines of his myth - and Han's search for Kylo - their relationship - both get distracted by Death Stars before getting to that sacrificial end.

As a crap rebel but excellent parent, or is it the other way round? I'm with Joe on this one

...you can discover new things everyday, and not every comment after a YouTube video is vile.

I was watching the grenade scene from Captain America, and someone mentioned Desmond Doss who I looked up in Wikipedia. You go read his Medal of Honor citation down the Wiki page. He was basically Dredd with a med-kit:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desmond_Doss

The recent movie completely passed me by.

Regards,

Robin

wow, going to watch that movie now.

Pin is a great character. - maybe she's just pissed off that her badge is silver?

Apart from some turgid exposition in Defoe, this was another fantastic prog

Crikey! Didn't realise Pin was female, Great story and planting of ideas  ;)

But those big badges are just plain silly... :-X

Rest of the Prog excellent.

Wow!

A phenomenally good Dredd one-off by Michael Carroll, and in my view he's now made it as one of the top Dredd writers. This feels like an '80s (in a good way) Wagner & Grant tale. It's got a solid sf idea underpinning it, it's funny, it has a decent plot, and it introduces a fun character who I really hope we'll see again.

This ^^^

I'm enjoying Lawless but not as much as others here, personally I'd like a bit more Deadwood and less Lone Ranger, but that's just me  ;)

There is something right happening in the state of Havn and its keeping us guessing which is great, Anderson seems, sorry to say being done by numbers, and I'd prefer a more dynamic and varied approach to the artwork.

The two text pieces are fine advertorials and do answer the question, WTF does Demi-god Moore make of the reprints.

Sadly no Dreddlines to brighten Butt'mans Hols.

We still have a mayor.

NEVER FORGET!

The Mayor was given the triple-death after his seven years were up, or possibly a bit sooner because he violated his geasa on numerous occasions (although not the one about not bathing in Lough Foyle on a May Day).  This doesn't prevent him returning via the cauldron of rebirth should he prevail over the torments of Ifurin, but the office is currently vacant.  Although nowadays candidates should expect to be judged on their performance by Trump of the Orange Woad, as well as Cathbad and his druids.

Nice try TB but not nearly long enough, or indeed mad enough!

add something about having and axe at the bank while your dad's underpants appear out your trouser leg, and some troubling comments about wimmin, and I'd call that a proper application for Mayorhood.

Hi Proudhuff, I can't make out the cap badge, but in 69 either in Derry or Belfast it would probably be infantry.
Tank and artillery regiments didn't start re-training until 1970.

cheers! A colleague at my work has mentioned being stuck in the back of a landrover and driven around, but he was artillery, will show him that pic regardless.

Jim, Is that  Robert DeNiro from the Deerhunter?

Wow! That's an old photo, even before my time, looking at the kit I would say '69 or '70.

Forgiven my lack of knowledge, but does the black berets mean those guys are Tank Regiment?
