Loved it! Especially the Big Green fella. Haven't laughed at movie so much in AGES. Total crowd pleasing awesomeness, although I hadn't a clue what was happening for the first half hour as I fell asleep during THOR. I take it the source of the power in this movie had something to do with that movie?

Prog / Re: Prog 1780 : PSI : Mega City One
26 April, 2012, 10:34:49 PM
Been a while since I chipped in my tuppence worth on a Prog, so thought I might break the silence....

Dredd - nothing much happening this week, but this is still shaping up to be THE best Dredd since Apocalypse War, in my opinion. Loving it loving it LOVING it!

Flesh - does nothing for me. Not a fan of the art, and this story seems to be growing more nonsensical by the week. A far cry from the original two early series. Hoping it'll soon draw to a close and be replaced by some Kingdom (please, Tharg?)

Zilk - again, not to my taste, although I usually LOVE McCarthy's art. This just seems to remind me of all the tat that stopped me buying the Prog and Meg in the nineties. Reckon I'll probably change my tune though when i read it as a whole.

Age Of The Wolf - LOVE this, my second fave in the Prog since it came back. Great art, compelling story. In fact, I think I prefer this arc to the first - that went far too "Mother Earth" for me in the last few episodes. This one ticks along nicely and I want more.

Anderson - Great art, promising opening chapter. Can't go far wrong with this series, I reckon.

Overall, the Prog's been in it's best shape for twenty years over the last couple of years. In fact, ever since "Tour Of Duty", I struggle to think of anything I've actually skipped over. There's usually something I'm not keen on, but the ones I like more than make up for it. And that's the point, innit? Hope it keeps up the quality for the next few years!

General / Re: Should Dredd ever be killed off?

Way I figure it, Rico'd be aware that the name Dredd should go on (as a symbol to the cits, heard it all before, yadda yadda yadda) and so would take it up as a mark of respect to his mentor/clone brother/father/whatever.

Plus, he'd be a bit burned up too, so he'd get away with it at the scene. Sure, the truth would come out under closer inspection, but then maybe to a select few? "For the good of the city", etc.

Actually, shit, that's pretty much just Necropolis, innit?

have Dredd and Rico get into a situation where only one of 'em walks out of. The other body's burned beyond up, only DNA tests can tell who it was (Which, of course, it can't, as they share the same DNA). The burned up body is wearing the Rico badge, the living the Dredd one. But is all as it seems?....

This would mean Rico takes up the Dredd mantle voluntarily - he's volunteering to step in to the old man's shoes, and trusting on the last few years on he streets (and the old man's advice, told in flashbacks) to keep the Dredd legacy continuing.

This is pretty much what I'd like to see. Plus, there could also be the mystery of how the real Dredd died - Wagner's told for years that one's clone in the bloodline's always gone bad - (Fargo and his brother in Origins, etc) - did Rico kill Dredd? You could keep this going for YEARS and not make to big a dent on continuity.

Hang on a minute, when does the actual DAY of chaos start? What with the sovs and total war smashing everything up, could it be feasible that the dark judges could escape from wherever they're being held? If I remember correctly, Death's not being held with 'em is he? Cos he's, er, dead.

Jim Marshall. Without him, the world would be a much duller, quieter place.

from what I remember from reading that script around a year or so ago, there is a hint of a
death cult tattoo on some members of the bad guys. Setting up the sequel?
Actually, you know what, I've never seen Network - I must remedy this asap.

Cheers for your suggestions all, but in the end I did a poem(?) called Remains by Charles Bukowski, and I got the gig! Filming at the end of Nov.

Should be fun!

Evening fellow boarders,

I've just returned home from work to find I've an acting audition for the lead role in a short movie tomorrow night, and I need to have a monologue ready! I have, like, literally NO idea what to do.

Anyone got any suggestions? "Panic" not being one of 'em.
