sorry pics later... at work at the mo.

The full story...
Saw it on eBay, contacted her for clearer pictures. She couldnt be arsed.
I asked her if it was on card or paper.. "Card"
Asked her how much she wanted for it.
Someone had low balled her an offer of £150 (you know who you are  :D )
She said I could have it for £160
Offered £170 to cover recorded/signed for/insured and for it to be posted flat as she wanted to roll it up in a tube.
Jobs a good un  :)

Ah ...thanks for that. I wondered what the numbers were.
It's a story I really like, by an artist I really admire... her story sounded legit and I'm ok with a little page yellowing (showing age).
Do people fake these? I didn't think it was mainstream enough for people to fake them.
All these things contributed to me agreeing to pay what she wanted.

I will find out tomorrow  :-\

Ahem... :-[
Thought I would take a punt on it. Not sure of the condition yet.
She wanted to roll it up and put it in a tube!
Will let you know when it arrives.

Hi,

I'm chuffed in one respect but a bit upset about the whole thing.
The prices paid simply mean that when I do sort out my finances I more than likely will never be able to afford similar pieces.

BOO!  :'( but YEH! :D and BOO! :'( again

I know very little about the Ron Smith piece...I stopped buying 2000ad in the nineties. I am catching up with the Case Files but have not seen it yet.

Anyone here able to tell me when it was made?
Is it from the prog or is it from an annual?

Thanks

Ok.. :o
Mine are the ones on eBay.
.99p start no reserve so they WILL go  :'(

Had some cheeky fec*er offering me £100 each (McMahon & Carlos)within about 10 seconds of uploading them. I think he was under the impression that I had just stepped off the boat. (If you are a member of the forum I am sorry. I will not reveal the name). Nice try though. :D

I would rather not go into that as this thread may be construed as a selling post and be pulled. :-X

It's simply a question I had resulting from a query I received from a potential purchaser.
I was surprised to receive it.

I do sell the occasional fine art print where condition is paramount for a lot of people, but I understand this, as you can just get another one from the edition.

Thanks for the input.
I am of the same opinion.
If it was a page I really admired and loved I would not care about its condition unless it was unrecognisable.

As an example.... As a kid reading the Apocalypse War the one page that really did it for me was the one where Dredd blasts Dan Tanna with the stub gun shouting "STUB GUN!" (first page of part 12). I wouldnt care if it had holes in it, had gone through the washing machine, providing I could afford it.... I would still want it.

Perhaps it's just me..but that's how I feel  :D

Just a quick question.

I am currently in a position where I am forced to sell some 2000AD art. :'(
It is a painful experience but I reassure myself that when circumstances improve I can hopefully get some more.

My question is.....

Does condition make a vast difference?
I understand that if it's really tatty then it may not be worth a lot. However if it's just a little yellowing is this detrimental?
It's not as if there is another copy in existence (its not a print)and to be honest, these were items of work when created and were treated as such.

What does the hive mind think?

Being new I don't quite understand what is happening here.
Rufus is a talented and nice guy.
Like my old mum used to say..."If you haven't got anything nice to say...FUCK OFF!"

p.s..... sorry for the swearing  :-[
