ok its over. the dust has settled.
time to read it again and make our feelings known.

in the end. i liked it.slow bitty and to behonest i felt a little childish at first.sort of like a script written for a younger crowd up beefed up a bit to fit into 2000ad.
it has perked up recently.i must admit and i will look forward to reading the next story arc if they bring it back.

it was no classic, but has enough to offer a decent stable background and foundation to biuld upon.

whats the hive minds thoughts.

bill nighly would be bloody excellent.
he could do us all a favour and ask his daughter to do a one off specail geust appearance.
should be enough to get he rating about 15 million.if she did. (keira nighly)

but with  eccelstone jumping ship, i geuss he gets off with being a brillant Dr Who. lots of fame and big budget projects without the problem of always being just Dr who.

not only bringing back one of our greats. but with music. i can see it now.

though SD has its appeal. sort of like a 2000ad version of RENT!
gordon on scripting and song writing duties of course.

i like the past couple of years of the retro updating of older characters.
but the introduction of new ones.

this allows you to strengthen the prog. but also helps lapsed readers return to the fold. but now i would hazard a guess that 2000ad is storng enough to have less relaince on the old skool stuff.
hence as gordon states the new editorial direction. which as always is whats makes 2000ad the greatest.

always willing to put it balls on the line and not stick with the tried and tested.
two thumbs up if thats the direction again.

though for most of us here. we will still buy it anyway truth be told. we made it through the 90s.

i am very concerned about all these young minds watching Dr who,.
that link to the CBBC website is very concerning.
people of the 11 -15 years old age bracket.
dont they know the core audience is 30 something males. and their below 10 year olds off spring.

the more i read this thread the more tempted i am to have it sent EXPRESS DHL. :~)

after that its a monthly dvd sent by my father.

as the good son i am. i just bought him a dvd recorder. he was pleased but did notice the conidence of Dr who starting the month.

but hearing all this i must say i am very pleased.
i have built high expections for my 8 year son and i get the feeling this is not going to be an anti climax.

well done BBC, and good to hear its up to our expections.

you would think they could run the budget up to  a pot of paint wouldnt you.

i did not expect to see some multi-national corp sort of thing. but that looks a bit dodgy doesnt it.
no wonder they all go freelance.

by all accounts this is going to rock.

even the colouration of the whole movie is said to resemble the comic book.

and as noted. EVERY BODY WHO IS ANYBODY is in this.
without doubt. this bodes well.

travel broadens the mind.

Bermuda,is a funny place, very British with a capital B in parts, truly caribean with a laid back C at the same time.

weather is outstanding, infastructure is pretty good, decent health care and so on.massive expat community,
hence decent schools, bars resturants and country clubs.
one of the worlds top ten beaches. HORSE SHOE BAY. on a par with fistral in newquay for quality with warm water and good sunshine.

but island life is not for all, local politics are not so far from home at most turns, curroption is high on the list of normal things,
transport is good, but every thing is imported so prices can be on the high side.

property can be very expenisive. though most areas are tourist safe shall we say.

best to apply, and see what happens, they would i imagine at least fly you out for free to look see and offer a decent housing allowance.
as for news reporting, you may find yourself begging for a real story at times,
would be rather like running a national paper in the style of a local rag,

but its a lovely place,i always enjoyed it there.
hada couple of friends who have worked there for 2 -4 years.
to note,
they really do wear long white socks and kneelengh shorts with shirts and ties you know.
hence the terms bermudas, makes you smile the first time you see it.

since we are not on a 2000ad topic anyway. have some stuff to share.

i tried the PSP and the nintendo DS,

PSP= play station 1 hand held basically.with a MP3 player as well. good but i think they will have a hard time dethroning the game boy.
games bit high priced,50 sterling around.unlikley to be able to get copies due to size of discs, unless it takes off big time, it will be like nintendo game cube and hardly pirated.
starting price big high. but expected to fall in october 2005.

the DS is able to play GAME and GAMEBOY ADVANCE chips, so it means a ready market to upgrade,
games are not to bad orginals going for 30 sterling, expected pirate copies within weeks i was informed and no need for chipping modifying,

150 titles to be launched by october 2005,plus the back catalogue of the current formats. so one hefty choice.
the nice things.
blow out candles (by blowing on screen!,stroke characters, sword fight with the stylus. fun and original ideas.
one game chip 15 players wireless. which is great fun.

but its chunky bigger then the orignal game boy. but battery life is good and fully rechargeable.

verdict PSP for the older market MP3 player bit og gimmick and with the explosioni of ipod and shuffles may not appeal, nintendo DS in for the long haul and likely to win over the legions of young advance SP users,
PSP to much like a sega game gear with upgraded graphics,

my tip wait till october 2005 and watch the prices tumble,
