Do not forget about Peaty writing Skip Tracer.
That was indeed who I meant.

For all these guys leaving they have too fully understand as well that they are doomed to write only other peoples creations.
Though interestingly, only one person in current issues of 2000AD is writing something that's wholly their own co-creation.

Jock seems to have made a huge impact on the fanbase off the back of a fairly small body of work. Lots of Tor Cyan fans out there.

There are three guys here I'd lean towards, and the runner-up is Mike Collins - Spoils of Annwn is my favourite Slaine story. But the actual votes are for Colin Wilson and Jesus Redondo. Wilson's work is clean, technological and new wave - very European for a gent from NZ; Redondo's speaks of power and pain and monstrosity.

Tiernen Trevallion is, for my money, Tharg's greatest discovery / new signing of the last decade, and one of the best artists currently working for 2000AD.
Ben Willsher, with his enormous lawmasters, gets the other vote.

Revere is one of the greatest comics ever published, so Simon Harrison is an easy first call. Again, second place is tougher - Jeff Anderson draws some iconic Dredd moments, whilst John Cooper and Vanyo are great artists, but both more associated with other comics.

Nonetheless, I'll go John Cooper, because his 'Oompa-Loompa cosplaying as Zoidberg' design for the Gila Munja is oddly endearing. Plus - he once drew Dredd with a jet-pack on. Rock 'n' roll!

Greg, please don't take this the wrong way, but I consider you a personal canary.
Will avoid Picard based on nothing more than this alarmed chirp.
Ha! If you look through the Picard thread, you'll see me approaching the first episode with an open mind and actively enjoying it, and then being steadily ground down whilst trying really, really hard to like the rest of the glacially-paced, deeply-unpleasant misery-fest that follows. By the time I've got to the end, anything that was good along the way has been forgotten, and I'm left feeling like the series has actively detracted from the sum total of human happiness.

Wouldnt touch Picard with a barge pole though.
If you hate TNG, you'll probably like Picard. It certainly seems like the creators hated TNG too. Of course, I personally think TNG is one of the finest shows of its era - of any era - and regard Picard, on the whole, as an unmitigated disaster.

Jim McCarthy obviously inked Bad Company - he is a major and possibly underappreciated part of the strip's success - so that's an automatic pass.
The second choice is much harder - for me, it's between Liam Sharp and Peter Doherty. Sharp co-created PJ Maybe but Doherty drew Bury My Knee... and Death of a Legend.

I'm going Liam Sharp. For Liana.

John Ridgway is the immediate pick, and a personal favourite - The Dead Man, Summer Magic and the unforgettable Raggedy Man are all classics of the highest order.
The second choice is tougher, but I'll go for Mr. Kitsune - Edmund Bagwell. As with Weston in the other thread, he gave John Smith's fevered dreams a grounding in reality. Plus - Joovs N the Hood!

Chris Weston. His work has become more refined and accomplished over the years, but my favourite era is the Killing Time / Canon Fodder / Enfleshings / Bride of the Warlock period, when his work tends towards the visceral, grotesque and fleshy. Weston was a particularly good foil for John Smith, giving his disturbing visions a horrible solidity.

John Hicklenton. His Torquemada was the stuff of glorious heavy metal nightmares.
Simon Jacob. Armoured Gideon was, inevitably, pretty metal too.

While I'm not really interest in DC these days...
In most sci-fi movies or shows, this'd be the moment everyone realised Colin had been replaced by a doppleganger / replicant / clone / changeling.
