If you must insist on using a feckin fast food franchise as the yardstick of our freedom, I would counter that said teenager is free to take her business elsewhere. In fact, if the government stepped in and told this fast food franchise they weren't allowed to do what they liked on their own privately owned property? That would be a horrific restriction of freedom.

I'm vaguely curious how many milquetoast British panel show guests

Edited for redundancy

I have to believe a fundamental public deficency in simple maths is at play here

No. Most people can understand "simple maths"*. It's the minefield of statistical obfuscation and demographic misinformation presented by humanities graduates who think they understand "simple maths" is the issue.

Is Spock a superhero?

Kurtzman has enough bad ideas for NuTrek already, don't be giving him any more

The Hu are the band that makes Klingon Opera look like hipster nonsense.

If we define a superhero as someone who wears their knickers on the outside, then Dredd clearly doesn't qualify. However the Stallone version wears a codpiece, which is kind of a similar aesthetic, so Stallone's Dredd clearly is.

Glad I could clear that up..

QuoteI'm less keen on the 'practical holster' movement.

I suspect that the original impractical holster may be the reason why Americans have never warmed to 2000AD Dredd.

I reckon it's because Americans view the Judges as not violent and authoritarian enough to be believable law enforcement officers

I always assumed the fada was just there for effect, like Motörhead's heavy metal umlaut.

From the title, I was worried that Abnett and Tharg had parted ways. Imagine my relief when I found out the title is just in relation to a severe medical trauma.

That's ridiculous - a silly, pointless waste of time.

Thank you

Don't mention it. This kind of thing is what the internet is really meant for.

:D Ridiculous fun. I assume you've managed to get it to red alert?

Of course, as a lifelong Trekkie I have developed deft wrist action.

You wouldn't have a link for a Slap Trump game perchance?

I suspect Trump is the way he is because no one has ever given him the slappin' he richly deserves.

I would also like to thank the mods.

I think I should point out that when I usually try to log on here with my VPN still on I usually get notified that I have been permabanned. Then I have to turn off the VPN and clear my cookies before I can log in again. This hasn't happened in a while now, and I'm only after realising. Is this useful information?

I'm no tech wizz, but I'd say the "firewall" needs repointing or somesuch.
