Books & Comics / Re: Week 16's comics

Well, once I've been home to get my wallet, I'll be buying:

EX MACHINA #10 (MR) $2.99
SEVEN SOLDIERS KLARION THE WITCH BOY #1 (OF 4) $2.99
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #519 $2.25

although I am at the point of giving up on ASM, which is a shame as I really enjoyed the early episodes.  It's not even the Gwen Stacy retcon that did it...

Reading a bit more, I should probably confess that I own official replicas of the Ranger and Psi Corp badges from Babylon 5, and also one of the set posters.

My Name is Dan
I am a almost 30 and have only worn glasses for the last 9 months.
My memory is crap, apart from for trivia.
Much of what has been said before can apply to me.

However, I have a Spectrum emulator for my phone.  And am trying to decide if it really is feasible to play elite on 10 keys.

Thank you for listening.

News / Re: New Pope!
21 April, 2005, 06:24:57 PM
John Paul II s successor is called " Gloria Olivae," or "glory of the olive. "traditionally, the olive branch has been associated with peace, but in both the Old and New Testaments it also serves as an emblem for the Jews. Putting the two together, some commentators believe that the reign of this pope will be a peaceful one during which the prophesied conversion of the Jews will take place.

However , Malachy s description may instead refer to St. Benedicts 6th century prophecy that a member of his order will lead the Church in its fight against evil just before the Apocalypse. The Benedictine Order is known by another name: Olivetans.

And lo! we have Pope Benedict!

> why anyone would go to greenock, I dunno!!!

Family funeral.  My aunt's a Minister there and was putting us up over ther weekend of the funeral.

Had great fun around the funeral though driving up to Fort Bill and back in one day, then over to Falkirk, Roslin and back the day after.

Got the hire car with 180 miles on the clock, returned it with over 500 miles clocked, and just 35km of fuel left.  Well they did say they wanted it back empty ;)

Whilst up in Greenock on family buisiness this weekend, I was introduced to the concept of Tattie Scones with Bacon.

Smely and tasted pretty good, but there was no other evidence of bacon in them...

It was 2000, as Alina and I were coming back from Paris on the day it happened.  The attack happened just after the 2 of us came into Waterloo on the Eurostar...

Really enjoyed this issue.  Frazer's artwork is gorgeous, although I wonder how the DC fanboys will take it, as its quite like his usual.  Seemed a bit more primary colour perhaps...

Not sure of the origins of Solomon, but I did think that there was a relationship.

I think that each of the mini series are supposed to stand on their own, but gain more if read as part of the whole, if you know what I mean...

Looking at the previews in the back of the issue of Klarion, there are hints that at least 2 of the series start to overlap in some way next month.

I will be arriving at about 8pm.

I was thinking of starting a meet-up thread a bit closer to the time...

Also need to find Mr Ewing that evening...
