No, it's the same on mine.

Didn't think to mention it as it's a pretty common problem in my experience.  Would be nice no to have it tho'.

Other Reviews / Stront TPB Review

Just a quick review, as I grabbed this from FP last night.

Absoultely great.  Some stuff in here I've never read (Galaxy Killers for one).  Pretty good reproduction on the artwork - a couple of places where it does go astray, but hey!

Has the first four stories from Johnny and Co. The Galaxy Killers, Journey into Hell, Death's Head and
The Schicklegruber Grab.

Only complaint I have is that the new splash pages credit all four tales to John Wagner, yet the credit boxes are for Alan Grant (and AA Grant) and Alan is given a back page bio... Can't remember the cover credits tho'

To be fair there has at least been some attempt in 2000ad to acknowlege the passage of time on Dredd...

Boots for one.

The Ultimate line could also be considered a reboot, the whole idea being to take the existing marvel characters and "reinvent" them so that they are more relevant to today - quite a neat way of getting around the problem that most of Marvel's cast should be at least 40 by now...

Indeed, thanks for the official Word.

MAkes me a lot happier about comitting to the Stront Line, if only it were in stock...

>  Well that makes sense.

Yep.  Some reporters have tried to kick off an ipod backlash by pointing out that the recent price reductions were fuelled more by the ommission of the dock/cable/remote than by goodwill, but the feedback seems to be that the people who want those things are willing to pay for them...

As for Firewire vs USB2.  USB 2 is faster, however there is better scalability in Firewire, especially if you are connecting multiple devices to your hub.

Next big arguement is WirelessUSB 2 vs Bluetooth.

Not any more Art.  In fact the only thing you get with iPods now is a USB 2.0 cable.

Makes more sense as all macs have USB 2.0 and few PCs (larger part of ipod market) have Firewire.

Don't get a dock with most now.

Thanks for mentioning Audiobook convertion there...

I had been wondering whether you could import stuff as audiobook (e.g. the dredd CDs) and a quick search off the back of your mention gave me the answer...

Yay!

You shouldn't need to transfer the MP3s to WMA (in fact I wouldn't - more options in the future).

You can convert AAC tracks to MP3 quite easily in iTunes if you need to.

AAC has an extension of .m4a

Art,

I'll aggree about the multi-computer thing.  Can be a real arse, especially if you are managing the music libraries on all of them from the one ipod.

There are ways of getting the music off the ipod though - and Anapod is just one of those...

As for 20gig, I'm approaching 30 on mine... ;)

iTunes music store files can only be played on an iPod (unless you do some burning / rerecoeding tricks)

If you have ripped your own music using iTunes then whether you can play it on another player depends on a couple of things.  First, the format you recorded it in (later versions of iTunes record AAC as standard, not MP3); and Second, whether the other player supports AAC (which, apart from ITMS tracks, is unencrytpted)

As to the Zen vs iPod arguement, I go for the iPod every time as the synchronisation software and the player interface are just so intuitive.  I don't know anyone who has had to look at the manual for an ipod...

Agreed.

However, Ellis is taking a break after the next issue (think he is due to return), so rather a shame there...
