Claire H. emailed me and asked me to pass along this message. I've cut and paste so as not to paraphrase badly

"I just want to point out that the MS hasn't so far affected Johny's drawing, it's all in his legs, and I want to say in a nice way that if people didn't like BOS III that's fair enough but don't blame the "Marks & Sparks".  Johny is still going strong producing art for Red Light Records in Switzerland, working on a drum and bass music video, as well as various projects at embryonic stage collaborating with other artists."

So there ya go Thrill seekers!

John is one of the bravest people you could possibly wish to meet.

As well as having a cutting sharp wit, ninja art skills and a joie de vivre which would put most people to shame... He is a great talent, truly inspiational.

The fact he has managed to complete a major art job, in the face of adversary (and it must be said, I the face of rudeness and vitriol), makes me realise how much more I have to achieve.

John's faced a lot these last few years, and both John and his beautiful wife Claire have managed to take it all in their stride.

I was lucky enough to have seen this film at John's place last year, and it left me humbled.

Go and see it.

John, You are truly a star.

Your friend

Martin Emond started in comics on Accident Man.
Hethen worked with Gordon Rennie, who's writing he loved on White Trash.
It was probably the work he was proudest of. He loved GnR, and the name character is Axl Rose.

He drew a Chopper story with Garth Ennis for the Meg.

He also drew strips with Alan Grant as well, some Lobo books (a great Lobo/Deadman crossover) as well as an unprinted Punished book, and then worked for Glenn Danzig's Verotika.

Marty then went into painting, and designed his own characters, Switchblade being one, which were about to be turned into an animated series when he died.

Sadly missed, atrue gentleman, and friend to all.
