It's going to bug me if they take the helmet off and show him. It's one thing if they take it off and keep him shadowed/censored, but there's just no sense in showing Dredd's face. One of the major goofs of the '95 movie.

Yellow shoulder pads, are you sure?

You get rid of the yellow shoulder pads and it's just a space Nazi outfit.

Go with Brian Bollands vision of Dredd and uniform and your there. No need to redesign this will cost $$$$'s.   

Well, I'd make the shoulder pad a bit smaller and have the eagle's beak arc down to the rest of the other shoulder pad. But Bolland's design does seem to be pretty workable as a movie outfit.

I'm wondering if anyone has compiled a checklist of all 2000AD continuity canon Judge Dredd (and related) stories. I want to put together a complete run of the good Judge. Obviously for the 2000AD stories the Complete Case Files are a great way to start, but what about the Megazines and various graphics that take place?

This would exclude the Movieverse and DC Judge, as they're out of continuity with the original/2KAD Dredd.

I'm reading the old Strontium Dog stories from Starlord right now.

I thought Stallone's helmet was pretty well done, and yes, Dredd's gear is absurdly bulky.

I could stand losing the green bits, or at least toning down the shade to the point where it's almost black but the yellow shoulder pads should stay. And the helmet highlights too of course.

I think if they made the green more akin to Soviet Bloc green (like Bulgarian 7.62 ammo tins) that it would look great; it tends to come across as slightly sillier because of how vivid the colors are in the comics. But of course, IRL, no color but the neons show as brightly as it does in the pages of comic books.

Do it! I have a massive love for obscure Halloween costumes. It's a form of geek shibboleth. You should keep ten bucks on you for anyone who recognizes Alpha. If you are based in WA you will probably get to keep the tenner.

The first Dredd story I remember was the Call Me Kenneth Robot Revolution story line particularly the giant wrecking Robots The Heavy Metal Kids.

As do we all, but I'm still ready to say Judgement Day was very weak - it was The Apocalypse War rewritten with zombies in place of Sovs and made global.  Coming so soon after the vastly superior Necropolis it felt like a retread of that story as well.  The blatant cash grab of splitting it between the Meg and the weekly was just the icing on the piss-you-off cake.

Yeah, worth reading but I'd only give it 3/5.
