I just re-read Sand Pirates. It's so bad it's actually funny, especially the final caption.

Sand Pirates (Outlaw: Progs 1003-1004)

Literally the closest Tharg has come to making earthlets pay for blank pages.

Why did the other three choose this cove?

ISTR he was psi-psensitive and a good carrier for Death's spirit.

How did they know where Death was?

You mean which dimension? Probably just used preset coordinates, the same convenient (and plot-friendly) method that allowed our heroes to follow them back.

Why didn't they go on a killing spree themselves?

When Death hadn't returned they realised stealth and a bit of planning was better than just wading in and risk ending up like him.

Why didn't they free death themselves? Couldn't they had d-jumped to the museum?

They wouldn't have known his exact location, and maybe needed a patsy to check the place out first.

Why did the bloke trust them? The look a bit shifty after all.

He was terrified. Either that or just a dumb cit. Probably both.

As well as the Kesheen in Firekind, the dragons in Sl?ine were good (The Knucker etc) looking like the one on the Welsh flag, especially Mogrooth's one kitted out like a bomber in the Fabry drawn episodes of Time Killer.

Belardinelli's dragonlike monsters were the bestest, though. Like the Great Beast in Blackhawk, based on a Chinese dragon, and the Titan of Peem in Ace Trucking Co, along with all sorts of giant snakes and lizards.

Best panel - not Jug's funeral, nor Savage gettin' the toys aht, or the GINORMOUS ELSON-BEASTIE SPREAD, but that one where AHAB goes "Nasty business". Perfect villain in a nutshell moment.

Tanks next week.

Plan B - to wit, Shooting Dredd Through The Head.

That would be Plan C, if Plan B was the robot Dredd and Plan A was indeed the Cursed Earth mission, which still doesn't account for the genius of what would be Plan D which is Cal telling everyone Dredd had a mum (!)or plan XYZ which was whatever he was thinking up while Goodman had that gonk stuck to his head.

This is why American comics are in trouble.

Corgi Board Meeting, 1979 -

"Let's see now, this one fires rockets so we'll call it... Rocketron, and this one's got a laser so we'll call it... Lasertron. Blimey, this is hard work..."

Every kid who had that toy wondered whether the launcher could be made deadlier by replacing the spring with one from a clicky biro, or devised a way of making it fire matches. True fact.

That's enough to innoculate a couple of hundred million people then, is it?

Yeah, but Tweak got his pack through as well, and only a single sector of the city remained uninfected at the start, and that was nearly overrun by the end.

Shenker first appears in A Chief Judge Resigns (Prog 457) after Omar buys the farm.

Niles appears in Nightmares (Prog 706) when McGruder resigns.

McTighe.. is he the one with the groovy headphones?

Not sure, but Ramos seems to make his first, at least named and speaking, appearance in Doomsday (Meg 3.56)
