I prefer the train, but will look into flights when I know the date.

Either way, it's cheapest to book early.

Hmmm... You'd think so, wouldn't you?

Birmingham or London are pretty much the same for me, as I'm travelling from Scotland and have to set aside huge amounts of travelling time anyway.
I don't mind either way.

I did, however, hear one or two Londoners at the last Dreddcon complaining about the one held outside London. Was it Nottingham?

Anyway, the gist was, "What a long way to travel. They should have just held it in London." You can't please everyone.

I just wish they'd set a date so I can book holidays and actually go.

Any chance of a response from Rebellion on the board?
I don't mean to be rude, but I'll repeat - any chance of some guidance on this one, Rebellion?

Hmmm...

It'd be more popular with certain other victims...

"No, no! I can't swim... Aaaaaagh!"

"Shut up and drown, Fleischer! BWA HA HA HA HAAAAAA!"

Er, I think I may have taken that idea a bit far.

I'm very keen to get the date and to plan ahead, so I can get the time off.

The speculative - and now abandoned, I understand - date of October 17/18 or thereabouts was perfect.

Hope Rebellion will get it in gear soon.

I didn't mean racism. I just meant this obsession with immigration.

Round here the papers don't bother with it so much. We see it in the nationals and wonder why people are being so nasty.

Anyway, as I said, I'm not going to get into it.
I don't mind off-topic stuff, especially if it has been inspired by a letter in the comic, but this one won't involve me any more.

As far as I'm concerned, Scottish independence is about the only way we'll get away from Daily Mail readers.

Yes, I'm aware of the irony inherent in tbat statement, but all I can do is insist I'm in no way anti-English and independence will be a positive step in cross-border relations.

Sorry to add a completely irrelevant aspect to the above debate but, with a family as immigrants in another country and a wife whose parents were immigrants to this one, I'm very depressed by Middle England's (and many Scots' but I firmly believe a minority of Scots) views on asylum seekers.

I'm certainly far too depressed to get mired in such things on a comic website.

Prog 1350 was good. I'll leave it at that.

I liked the colouring on Stront. It had a great, sort of grown-up magazine feel to it.

I never get too worked up if I think something's been done on a computer, as long as it continues to appeal to me.

Each to his own, I suppose.

BWA HA HA!

The dialogue:

Sinister: "Funting funt, me pal, the fact totem says we should go whack some fella."

Logan: "We already did that in prog 1237, page 6, panel four, near the left-hand side of the panel. Here's a picture of it."

Sinister: "Funt off. Ye're just supposed to say 'Vayase!'"

Bison is coming back and changing his name to Logan. :-)

Or how about "Sinister Logan?"

Wow!

1350 has two full-blown, absolutely terrific hits out of three, and Slaine is pretty good too!

I'm very happy with this one.

Dredd was the start of a great tale. He's always at his best when a touch of sensitivity creeps in. It's like watching a mystery being solved as we see more of it.
The art was up to scratch, too.

Slaine is okay. I quite like the art. The poor cliffhanger save at the start is disappointing, but now we have battles. That'll do me for now. I'm not expecting much from it, anyway.

But Strontium Dog is the best of the three.
Wagner back to that great mix of Clint Eastwood and comedy, with the Doghouse making a welcome return.
You can just tell that taxman is going to be like Droopy, turning up everywhere, can't you? :-)

And Ezquerra's back to his best! I can't put into words just how thrilled I am to see such a high standard from our favourite Spaniard, given how little I enjoyed his b&w stuff on ABC Warriors.

Plus, all the old gadgets are there too - the beam polariser and the time bomb!
I'm so happy, I could hug people.

Er... reasserting evil persona....

Not sure about the cover. I like Flint but those character montages are never thrilling.

The poster's fine but how many of us will put a poster on the wall these days? I'd rather have had an extra page or two of strip.

And Input's full of fawning letters. Okay, it's true that the comic's great, but I want Tharg crying into his polystyrene, not puffed up with pride.
Treat him mean and keep him keen!

Rating this prog: a fine sirloin, charred on the outside and perfectly pink in the middle, with a damn good full-bodied bottle of Tuscan red.

Tremendous!

Squaddies aren't so thick. Just compare them with policemen and they look like geniuses.

Ooops. Sorry, JimBob. :-p

Devil's Island and Whitey returned together.

He escaped twice, IIRC, the second time to be killed by Dredd in a badge-throwing ninja death star moment.

If memory serves, it was for one of the aniversary progs - either 15th of 20th.

Our first dance was I Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis, who's the only King other than me, AFAIC.

I still don't see what's wrong with Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep.

One of my favourite bits of our wedding was the sugar bride and groom figure on top of the cake, which drew laughs as people looked at it closely.

You see, the groom wasn't just wearing a tux. He was using one hand to pull aside just a bit of his jacket to reveal a certain red, yellow and blue outfit...
