I can do an impression of Garth Ennis:

"F*ck, f*ck, f*ck, sh*t, let's rape a chicken, y'all, goodnight and God bless, now f*ck off to bed..."

What do you think?

No-one?

I think it was Blackblood or Blackwood?

Who was it that, weeks and weeks ago, wanted scans of the old Eagle strip Manix?

I finally got round to it but now I can't remember who to e-mail them to.

Sorry.

"do they always keep the mega-epics for the summer?"

Hmmm... If so, why?

Do they stockpile it so more people can have a holiday?

They all get together and have a party.
And Death kills them all.
That would be nice.

But you're absolutely right about the number of things left over. Are we seeing Wagner preparing for something big, or is he just keeping lots of irons in the fire?

Wouldn't it be brilliant if the next Mega-Epic had Dredd, Prager and Orlok teaming up to fight Judge Death?

Hmmm. Not sure.

Mostly I remember striking pieces of actual comic strips.

My prevailing impression of poster art is that I just skimmed past it.

Wasn't the thinking behind poster art that it was cheaper?
They only had to pay an artist and not a writer for the page.

A lot of it was pretty poor stuff, especially towards its end.
In my re-reading, I keep encountering pointless pages of drawings of Venus Blue Genes, obviously there as filler.

Perhaps if it was a genuine piece of art, such as Frazer Irving Death or Ezqerra or Robinson Dredd, then I might like it now and again, but generally I'm not in favour.

I'd rather see a one-page story, a text piece on background or history or just another advert to reassure me the mag is going to stay healthy.

"Sl?ine screwing nuns, however, isn't clever."

That's a whole other debate, Oddboy, but you've got my vote.

Oh, and I saw Threads as a kid.

Ever see that? Black and white 50s (I think) information film about what will happen during a nuclear attack.

My mother then announced that if there was a nuclear war she'd smother her kids rather than make them go through the aftermath.

That was pleasant.

You'll all laugh at me for this, but the first time I saw The Exorcist it scared the living shite out of me.

It was a long time ago.
