Well, thanks everyone for the suggestions.

My 2K-format comics are the ones I need to find boxeds for, in case I need to move house in the near future.

The Ikea solution sounds practical and affordable and I'll probably look into that next chance I get.

However, I would consider something practical and cool if Rebellion were offering it at a reasonable price.

Cheers,

I'd be interested to hear other boarders' experiences of storing comics.

I've been forced to devote a large part of my spare room to stacks of storage boxes (the ones A4 paper come in are perfect for US format comics) and piles of 2K stacked haphazardly on shelves.

Has everyone else resorted to lofts, garages and mysterious sub-bed spaces, where odd shoes breed and no-one ever goes?

That's fantastic stuff.

I quite like your new icon too, Wake, but now I sound like even more of a creep than Oddboy.

Slightly disappointed now.

Thought you might be our second message board "pop star" - after Kirk Brandon.

Well done, anyway.

I'd also heard of slightly suspicious comparisons, involving such practices and the wearing of bracelets (handcuffs) and the magic lasso.

She seems a lot less wholesome now, doesn't she?

"wonder women arthur?? "

Heh, heh, heh. Somebody want to tell DD the Wonder-Woman-and-bondage-related-origins story?

That's one of the best behind-the-scenes stories in comics!

Iain Banks is a Scot, you know. He's from Fife.

One day, we will rule you all...

Envy your cool presents, although my recent birthday gifts included lots of Spiderman merchandise, including a working webshooter filled with silly string!

By the way, the wallpaper is great and you inspired me to adopt two-tone Dex for a while.

"I don't really remember, but wasn't Rain Dogs just a soggy version of Dry Run?"

LOL!

Nice one, Odders!

I reckoned Rain Dogs was fairly weak and predictable and I couldn't understand why everyone went wild for Glimmer Rats.

2K has done the horror of war far better in so many other strips.

I don't care what the strip is, as long as the great Ian Gibson draws it!

But a few thoughts on why Robohunter was better than something like Demarco PI...

The success of the strip was based on its comedy and sheer zany chaotic events, with poor old Sam as the straight man left to deal with everything.

The hook was in the madness of Verdus, or the singing Brit Cit Robots, of the island of the evil Doctor Droid.

IMHO the best moment in the strip - and possibly the funniest ever in 2K - was Sam's reaction to the hospital ward full of Hoagies.

"Oh great god of Robohunters, don't do this to your old pal!" - or words to that effect. His reaction, added to the madness, said it all.

The same effect could be achieved with a female Slade (and, let's face it, Ian's women are some of the best ever) if the writing is strong enough.

However, I fully approve of stories with talking monkeys in them.
