Unsurprisingly, my first name is Mike and my surname starts with a D.

For dull.

Grobbendonk is a good one.

If it turns up, we'll know it was you now Doug.

I'm considering a few, based on minor characters in the comic.

But might stick with my dull one. We'll see.

I agree with Doug.

As a message board novice, I didn't realise how much cooler all the other kids would be.

Maybe someone could suggest other possibilities for we poor dull username people?

If I got a good enough idea, I'd think about swapping.

The Dan Tanner blockers used the undercity to launch an attack during Block Mania.

All of those are great, apart from dirtwad, which isn't really exclusive to the comic strip where it was used.

I know fuoco isn't either, but it is a strong characteristic of the Dante character, as one of his catchphrases.

How about we include something from space truckers' lingo?

Another suggestion - and this is a cool one!

The Norts in Rogue Trooper would die with a shout of:

"STAK!"

Oh, lovely!

Grud on a greenie should really be credited to Anderson, but it's nothing like as much fun as funtwipe!

We should include something from Halo
**** Aaaaah... Halo.... so lovely.... ****
Jones, but as I'm at work I can't look up anything they shouted.

There was so much future slang in it, there must be an expletive somewhere.

Anyway, glad you like the idea, PVS

Internet at work?

I'm afraid I can't comment on that, because of certain strict company rules.

That's a good idea for a Thread.

Unfortunately, I get the wooden spoon for crappest username.

It's my actual name.

Oh dear.

Poles, eh? Bwa-ha-ha!

Hey PVS - I can't do a poll because I'm a pleb, but here's an idea for your ongoing mission to seek out new polls.

How about our favourite 2KAD expletive deleted?

What would you like to be roaring as you go down in a hail of bullets?

Options: Drokk, Stomm, Dok, Grud, Sneck, Fuoco, Grud On A Greenie, Judas B Christ, Quaequam Blag, Oh Shuggles... and many, many more...

My favourite has always been Stomm, but that's just personal taste.

- no snecks please, we're brutish -

I was seven when I started - but those were more innocent times.

Yes, 2KAD's moved on, but then so have kids.

Have you walked past a playground lately?

I go to schools occasionally as part of my job (let's not have those sort of comments - behave yourselves!) and, believe me, kids don't need comics to learn how to swear.

Dudus - do your parents know what the comic involves?

If they don't disapprove, read away.

I actually learned quite a lot from comics as a kid, and any sort of reading is a good thing, I suppose.

Welcome! Stay as long as we have, okay?

General / Re: VISABILITY???
03 May, 2002, 12:40:01 AM
I seem to remember that the red bit does indeed allow visibility from one side only.

I'm sure it was one of those 'how does it work?' features in something, possibly an annual or the guidebooks for the old RPG, where we got a run down of things like the Lawgiver, Lawmaster and helmet.

Anyway, the interior of the helmet was shown as a cutaway and there was effectively a big oval transparent bit at its front, from the inside only.

Or did I dream it?

Anyway, given the tendency to work 23 hours and 50 minutes, then hit the sleep machine and keep going, I'm more worried about the condition of old Stoney Face's hair.

Does he never wash it? Yuk.

- because I'm worth it -

Some saved Skizz III. I'm depressed.

One last sentence from me: re Dry Run.

Anyone read the Paul Grist comic Lucifer a few years ago? This is a rip-off from that.

Have dry, vinegary wine corks strapped into their mouths and make them watch a bunch of people getting drunk for all eternity.

I'm gutted that I was so busy at work today I didn't have time to check in.

All the time I was driving around the countryside working, you were all having fun making up block names! D'oh!

Maybe The Beast Wagner will take on board some suggestions?

Mine include:

Gwyn Paltrow Block - tall and thin with leaky waterpipes.

Dick Madeley and Jude Finnegan Blocks - prime candidates for a block war. Neither as new and attractive as they used to be.

Tom Hanks Block - stands out among neighbouring blocks. That is, you can't avoid seeing the damn thing however hard you try.

Finally, as a tribute:

Spike Milligan Block
Douglas Adams Block

- Dan Tanner Block forever! -
