Prog / Re: *** Prog 2000 ***

Top prog. Congratulations to all involved! I delegated the production of several newspapers in western Canada to leave work early so I could get into it.

Some of my highlights:

That Dredd/Alpha reluctant bromance,
Middenface in every panel he graces,
Spooky Rogue Trooper written so well,
Returning artists whose work I love, especially O'Neill, who is clearly unhinged,
Continuity-twisting in an entertaining way (calm down, people, because it doesn't matter),
The supercool Edsel,
The return of Spikes Harvey Rotten,
And blasphemy. Sheer, blatant, glorious blasphemy.

Plus lots of other stuff I'll remember in a minute and wish I'd mentioned.

Such a special comic.

Thank you.

ALL HAIL DEPUTY CHIEF JUDGE FISH!

Yeah, I'm not sure the point if the "quote" function is to create a kaleidoscope effect that causes readers to collapse and see visions of demons.

It's the final episode of our EPIC interview with John Wagner on the Thrill-Cast! We conclude with more talk about Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, his thoughts about the future, and a shock announcement!

Thanks again for all the great feedback, we really appreciate it!

It's just occurred to me that I never did say thank you for the namecheck in this. So, uh, thank you. Months too late. Sorry.

I listened to the Pete-Jock-Steve episode during a long car journey tonight and enjoyed it a lot. The best part was, of course, Pete's accent enthusiasm.

Cheers

An actor's face? I don't see it. Might as well say he looks like Rondo Hatton.

Carlos drew Dredd sans helmet in the comic book adaptation of the 1995 Dredd film.

While that film is, of course, an unspeakable abomination, that's got to be as close to canon Dreddface as we have ever had.

I now submit this motion to the house.

Today's Damage Report seems to confirm that 3rdWW and New Statesmen are included in the deal, included as they are in the 3 Lions inspired dittie there in.
Pure speculation but Stevie's calling it now: The New Statesmen collection will undoubtedly coincide with new material in the Meg. Fingers crossed for Fiona Dalton on art.
As much as I'd be delighted to see this, John Smith doesn't seem to have much interest in revisiting stories whose time has passed. Or, at least, I asked him a couple of years ago about that dangling epilogue and promised Book 2 and he was all like: "Meh! Can't really remember. Think I'll just write something new instead."

I love that you corrected a typo while quoting the previous post.

Concerned this is indeed a scam. You need independent evidence that the company exists as stated and is reputable.

Start by looking them up in the (online) phone book and calling their switchboard. Then ask for HR and make your concerns plain, speaking politely.

If you get this far, they will help. Good luck!

The sound you can hear is the weeping of letterers across the land.

As usual, I didn't notice the crossbars until Jim pointed them out.

I do, however, stand in solidarity with you, Jim. I now manage a newspaper production team making sure 1.6 million people get the news every day, and nobody has a chuffing clue about what any of us actually do.  :D

Well maybe no one whats to publish Third World War cos its a bit rubbish?

Now New Statesmen on the other hand, whoever owns that should be reprinting the crap out of that wonder. Adore it.

Another forgotten gem from Crisis is Sticky Fingers, it was quite superb and deserves to see the light of day.

A bit harsh on TWW, the  first arc is pretty good and that art, some of Carlos' finest!
Later episodes were hit and miss, John Hinklentons art was incredible.

Agree with New Statesman, didnt get on with Sticky Finger, might be worth a reread.

Full agreement here. I liked TWW and I loved New Statesmen. I even have a couple of pages of Baikie art from it.
