General / 2000 AD characters getting tanked up

As the celebrations are in full swing, figured it might be an idea to show again this neat scene from a coupla years ago.
Too big to take one photo of, so here's the left side:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v63/Mangamax/P3020079.jpg">

What i find most suprising about the book is how insecure he seems about his work, always seeming to seek approval.

Brian brings up the subject of the woman with the bob in one of the chapters.
Seems he just likes drawing her (and i can't argue with that) so, yeah, shes in Mamaulon, in tons of one-off pics, she's the Actress, she's a bit of Hershey, she's a lot of nude studies.
And not based on a real person apparently.

Anyone know - that illo on the back cover by Henry Flint of Dredd fighting the original version, is it an upcoming tale or just a pin-up?

And the one on the right i just happen to have on the Bay right now.
Reason for thinking of selling the GN's is - and this'd be considered heresy here - it really didn't work for me after Volume one. And that i consider a classic and works well by itself.
I've got two copies of that and figure i could live without the rest.

"If you are going to do such a fannish thing, then you may as well go hell for leather to make it as crazy and retro as you can"

Indeed. What's the point of trying to go with as realistic a colour scheme as possible when i'm gonna have cowboys shooting laser guns at her, cowboys in flying craft buzzing round her, and cowboys chewed up and dangling out of her mouth?

Will post pics when i'm done.
