John Wagner - without a doubt.

Does 'America' count as a Dredd story? He's in it, but rarely. Megazine (vol 1) #1-7 (also available in GN format).
It's a bitter love story about a comedian & his Pro-Democracy activist not-quite-girlfriend. (This was the first appearance of the Total War group.)

Full on Dredd, probably got to be Block Mania / The Apocalypse War (2000AD progs 236-244 & 245-270 respectively).
The first truely MEGA epic, starts off as 9-part Block Mania story, and then swoops into the massive 25-part Apocalypse War with the invasion of the Sov Judges.

Hurrah! Internet google serch bring up the goods...

There was a by-election in Winchester after the losing Tory candidate fought a court action to have the 1997 election result declared null and void (he had lost by two votes). In the subsequent re-run, the Lib Dems won with a majority of over 20,000 (they held onto the seat comfortably at the June 2001 general election)

I know that there's (literally) a world of difference between US Presidential elections & one UK town's by-election, but it does show the principle of bad-loser ship on future voters.

In Winchester at the May '98? elections - Conservative candidate lost by 2 votes. He insisted on 3 or 4 recounts.
There was a bi-election about 6 months later (incidently my 18th birthday fell within this period, so I could vote for the 2nd round!) and he lost by a huge amount. First time my mother ever voted against Conservative, and only because of Gerry "Bad Loser" Malone.

From BBC News website:
Mr Bush is delaying a formal victory claim to give Senator Kerry "time to reflect" on the results, chief of staff Andrew Card said.

Mee-ow!

Hmmm - would've been more Christian of him to not kill people & stick with drinking the red wine.

So - while the government are trying to stop gay weddings, they're encouraging homosexual behaviour... now that's Bush-logic.

And why exactly does Bush have this 'born-again' following? 'Love your neighbour as yourself' is hardly a phrase that fits with my impression of the Bush Administration.
As a Christian myself, I find the idea of war very distressing & I really wish people could just be nice to each other. Which is one reason *not* to vote Bush IMO.

GC - I really would vote for you, if I could. Time & again your 'political' posts on this message board have pretty much been spot on for my opinions, but with the advantage that you know much more about politics then I do.
Don't agree with all your views, but that's because we're not the same person.. but I'd certainly rather have you as PM then anyone else.

What really annoys me about politicians is that they're more concerned with getting power then using it.

However, I'm convinced that "politics" is actually a completely flawed concept and that no form of government can be completely fair. We'll just have to muddle through & do the best we can, I guess.

well, no, you don't have to vote for either labour or conservitive, but the reality is it will be one or the other. why waste a vote?

I'm not wasting my vote when I don't vote for Con or Lab. I'm showing that I don't support either of them, and showing the rest of the country that there are other options.
I dispise 'tactical' voting. If people don't vote for who they want, then they'll *never* get what they want, and we'll be stuck with a two party system forever.

There seems to be little difference between Conservative & Labour anyway - they're both trying to get the votes of the same 'majority' of people.

I'd like to see a government formed without parties, just MPs representing the opinions of their local area, rather then party policy.

Is there no one else to vote for? Does it *have* to be Bush or Kerry?

Sounds like a sensible way to rule as monarch.

But unless some watery tart has thrown a sword at you, then you're not going to be my King.

My favourite Vice would be Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
