I don't think it was any more sci-fi than The Young Ones was, and that had a trip to Narnia, time travel, devils and The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

General / Re: CAN YOU BE AN AMBASSADOR FOR 2000AD?

I'm all for bigging up 2000 AD whenever the chance arises on a forum where I already have an account (barely active or not) like CBR or Marvelmasterworks, but yeah, it would look suspicious if suddenly a bunch of us with a post count of "1" all showed up at Newsarama to add to that thread.  Maybe I have a Newsarama account?

One thing I do, apart from the twice-monthly graphic novel reviews, is always try to respond to the Comics Reporter's Five for Friday feature and have at least one 2000 AD-related response.  It doesn't always work (and I'm not always in Friday evenings!) but I like trying.  He always links my comics reviews (Journalista does not, sadly) and so that brings a few eyes our way.

Does anybody actually know any of these comics web journalists?  Comics Alliance was mentioned earlier - if Laura Hudson, say, could run an interview with Alan Davis on the back of the US D.R. & Quinch and Harry 20 collections, that would be great.  I'd love to see more features, but I'd also like to see more of us popping up in the comment threads whenever they do appear, thanking them for the feature and asking them for more.

(Actually, what the heck ever happened to Forbidden Planet's promised interview with Pat Mills?  They solicited questions from the public, but I don't think it ever happened.)

Robo-K33F mentioned that there's a UK edition penciled in for next year, but they wanted to try and take advantage of Alan Davis's name here by getting all his 2000 AD work out for American fans to try.

Or, you can think of it as I do, Tharg's munificent gesture to us poor American squaxx who've been on the short end of the thrillpower stick for decades.

Yes... Diamond failed to ship the $10.99 Meg 295, and I bought the digital replacement for only $3.99.  Some ugly artifacts in the scanning, though, but others have reported that those have since been improved.

Afraid there's no credit in the book to tell us.

Here's another case of 2000 AD getting undercut by the competition again - Dark Horse's digital comics are dropping to $1.49 apiece, half of what Clickwheel charges.

You can read what I have to say about it over at my Bookshelf blog: just clicky here.  And if you like what I wrote, tell yer friends and increase my traffic, would you?  (Clicking that ad on the sidebar leaves me a teeny tip, you know...)

PMs don't want to work for you, evidently:

"Unable to find member 'batman's superior cousin'."

Oh, bitterest of ironies that this should happen today.

Me too.  Same error, same 2007 issue, same silly message.

If I didn't still use it, despite the delays, Sinister Dexter would still be in that casino and I'd still be thinking Johnny Alpha's in the ground.  That's how late the physical progs are for Diamond customers.  Make sense now?

The problem with Tank Girl for me was its semi-permanent slot...

I'd like to think that was everybody's problem with it.  We all accept that not every strip is going to thrill us every issue, but it's easier to overlook the joker in the pack when it takes a breather for longer than one issue.

With more American comics going to same-day digital for a fraction of the cost (Invincible is the next one to make that jump, I hear), maybe it's time Clickwheel made its next leap forward?

Don't get me wrong, I do like only being ten days behind subscribers a lot, but same-day would be fantastic!

Well, he doesn't care for our fandom anymore because Tank Girl got so many negative letters by the end, so it's not surprising that he doesn't want to promote the comics any longer.
