This is the best example I could fiind of the technique I'm talking about. By mixing the properties of the layers and differing the opacities by over laying the layers (much like how you use watercolours) you get this kind of effect and you can alter the depth by altering the opacity's without having to use the history brush...http://www.eatsleepthink.co.uk/iomega/images/misc-7.jpg">

Don't use layers!!!

How do you survive. Pop your B&W line drawing on a multiply layer, drop another layer underneath fill that in white and then sandwich a layer inbetween to colour onto, simple really. You can add other layers inbetween the top and bottom and even use each one for a different colour. I tend to have a base layer of a midtone on the second to bottom layer (above the white), then using the same colour but on an 'overlay' layer above the midtone I use this for highlights, above this on a multiply layer using the same colour again I use this for shade then on each layer I just darken (multiply) or lighten (overlay) the colour to twaek the effect. You could add further layers in between these to add even more shade or highlights - works a treat.

Shaving Ryans Privates

(this and the other thread are an extension of a drunken evening where we came up with loads, got ratted, and could not rem. any the next morning whilst washing up and hoovering the carpet with the dog - Mrs Larf was out walking the Dyson)

POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR SOME

Dredd - Brilliant if not a bit disturbing. He shot a 12 year old girl for a crime which could be interpreted as manslaughter. 5

ABC Warriors - Interesting and a lull of all the out and out fighting of the last episodes. 3

Ten Seconders - Best thing in the prog and chasing the coat tails of a Dredd classic. These two stories raise this prog above the mundane. Absolute genius, love it! 5

Bec and F'all - RIP, hate it. 0

Rogue Trooper - The art on this is fighting to improve and I've got respect for that, but some of the story telling (maybe interpretation of the script) is woolly. I had to re-read the penultimate page where the kit is given back to Rogue to understand that he wasn't blowing the hell out of his own buddies but replicants. This would have looked better in colour and Steve Pugh needs to work on his more dramatic poses (loved the guy with the spears cutting through him, excellent!), but overall 2.

Droid Life - Hilarious, a funny 2000AD strip that works - give it more room and ditch the students.

Oh dear.

The fact that he's not researched Alan Moore's lineage, and called our illustrious organ AD2000 makes the rest of this article - in my opinion - worthless.

Let's all go 'out' when it comes to Sham Leith. eh?
