In a nutshell it's the damp that gets back into the paper, like wetting a toilet roll and then drying it out of the radiator...

...not that I do that type of thing of course :-)

Larf's paper facts No. 2341

Paper has to be stored pre-press at the correct temperature, if not the dampness of the ink absorbs into the paper and if the finished product is not dried out correctly post press then the paper will contract too quickly and thus create an undulation in the grain.

Possibly because the subs issues are first out of the door and are not compacted when dried then they actually dry during transit in a plastic bag... 'tis a theory.

It's a printers problem and really does need sorting out.

Hence the reason why they have been able to increase the pagination without increasing cost by reducing paper quality?

Bolt, I would try InDesign first, it's compatible with quark files but more importantly works in tandem with pshop, and Illustrator. You can down load a demo at Adobe.com. I've been using quark for years but it really is a pain in the arse, and will shortly be moving over to InDesign.

You should be able to put your pages together in Illustrator though if you're short of cash, then save the eps as a PDF to send to the printer.

Any probs I'm sure there are plenty of us here that could give you a hand.

The song is shite, not well done, poor production and it fluctuates like the ECG of beating heart having a  coronary attack.

But, what it stands for is beautiful. We live in a F88cked up world, where pop stars with everything have to sing for those with nothing. If having to listen to Dizzy Rascal make a hash of one of the formative records of my teenage life, and poor representations of tired cliched pop acts rip apart an iconic and groundbreaking record is what it takes to force todays teenagers to realise life does not revolve around materialism and that we share the planet with people in far worse situations than discovering your boyfriend french kissed your best friend or you should have bought a bigger iPod then I'll listen to it until the proverbial cows reach the milking shed.

Crap record, if it helps others worse off than us then karaoke away.

OK after reading the thread about Marvel suing City of Heroes, boo hiss! and watching Mystrey Men on the TV last night. I thought it would be entertaining for us to create our own heroes...

So what is the super hero name, what does your costume look like, what is your super power, do you have a sidekick and who is your arch enemy? etc. etc.

Go for it super friends...

2 days after my Grandad died he appeared to me in a dream and sat on the end of my bed, didn't think anything of it when I woke up just thinking it was a 'piece of cheese' and the emotion.

During the evening Sarah, my girlfriend, said to me - "I dreamt your Grandad was in our bedroom last night, but I had to keep quiet because you both were talking."
